A limited-edition model with just 408 examples produced for the North American market, the Porsche 911SC Weissach Coupe debuted as a tribute to the marque’s motorsport division. Each features a special paint color, a unique Doric Grey leather interior, sport shock absorbers, and front and rear spoilers. This example was factory-specified with a Platinum Metallic finish, a limited-slip differential, front fog lights, and an electric sunroof. Imported to Canada in 2010, this rare Weissach Edition Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Ontario with approximately 96k miles showing on the odometer.
This 911SC is finished in Platinum Metallic, one of two unique color choices available for the Weissach Edition. Designated by option code M439, the Weissach edition also includes a flexible spoiler lip attached to the front air dam as well as a Whale Tail rear spoiler and Platinum Metallic painted 15” Fuchs wheels. Front fog lights and an electric sunroof were further optioned. The seller states that the vehicle was refinished in gold paint under prior ownership and has since been stripped to bare metal, then refinished in its original Platinum Metallic. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, the driver is greeted with special Doric Gray leather upholstery, Sport Seats with red accent piping, red carpets, and a black headliner. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order, although the seatbelt warning occasionally illuminates while the seatbelts are engaged.
An air-cooled 3.0-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 180 HP and 175 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual gearbox and optional limited-slip differential. The seller states a professional Porsche mechanic has meticulously maintained this example, and service records will accompany the sale. No outstanding service items have been reported.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a battery charger, sales literature, and two new rear brake rotors.
The seller would like you to know: “This car has been maintained diligently with all services performed by a highly recognized, skilled Porsche mechanic. It has been driven only in the summertime in good weather (about 500-600 miles over a 4–5-month period). It has been stored indoors during the winter months. I am a careful driver who enjoys a drive in a superb car, and during my ownership, I can categorically state that it has never been redlined.”

@tommeron My error. I always thought the tank was moulded. During my ownership, I drove the car for pleasure and never had a use for the trunk, i.e., no long trips or luggage. So, I can't imagine what might have dented the tank sometime in the past.
Certainly I am not an expert, but I was going to bid to try and buy this car. My understanding is that this is a USA car and was exported from Tenn to Canada. Now it can be returned to USA with the 2 1/2% charge at the border only, and much easier as it was a DOT USA car. My “AI” searches say only new cars and parts are subject to 15% tariff. This is what I was going with if I hadn’t decided to keep my 2015 GT3 as my only Porsche. Hope that helps.
Bid in the amount of $31,500
@mineralfarmer While I am no expert on border issues, I did a Google search on tariffs (please see previous response). I'm not aware how/if reimportation from Canada to the USA makes a difference.
@RStJohn not a chance, that’s significantly crumpled, google a Gbody gas tank
@Maxwell16 It is moulded to fit, and the shadows in the photo appear to be dents. There are no dents.
@RStJohn Any comment on the gas tank question from @Maxwell16?
With regard to importing to the United States, does it make any difference that the car was originally from the United States and was imported to Canada?
With regard to the previous question about chain tensioners, if one looks at the chain covers one can see if they have oil lines going through them or not which would mean that oil-fed chain tensioners were installed at some point. I would be surprised if they weren't.

Why is the gas tank so dented? It looks like it crumpled

@RStJohn I'm seeing the same as you. It's been a month or two so since I received a quote, so it DEFINITELY could have changed. I also didn't move forward with the purchase, so I have no concrete example. Will definitely talk to an importer if I win!
Previously I was told to plan for a 2.5% Classic Car duty, plus 15% reciprocal tariff on a German-origin, classic car.
Would love for it to only be 2.5%!!! GLWTA!
Surprised no one has mentioned the awesome plate yet

Thanks for info. What are the dot specs on all tires. Are they within 10 years? Do you also know the source of the oil leak?
@Tundrawolf Yes, actual mileage. Chain tensioner not changed during my ownership, during which I drove the car a total of about 17,000 miles over 15 years.
Is that the actual mileage on the vehicle? Chain tensioner been updated? I am located in BC.
Bid in the amount of $21,000
@tommeron According to Google search:
U.S. Entry Requirements
• A 45-year-old car is likely exempt from the new 25% U.S. tariff on imported automobiles, provided it meets the 25-year rule for classic vehicles.
• 25-Year Rule:
Vehicles at least 25 years old are generally exempt from modern safety and emissions regulations, and specifically from the 25% tariff, allowing for a standard 2.5% duty rate.
Given uncertainties, and discussions between US and Canada, everything could change tomorrow..
@Tripledigit - Obviously double check with an importer, but the total tariff into the US will be 17.5%. 2.5% for the over-25-year car, plus 15% "reciprocal tariff" which is in place right now.
@Chiro4Life Thank you for your observation. It is a simple repair that can be arranged with the new owner.
@palien PCAR advises that the additional photos have been added to the gallery.
@nowayman22 I have no records of any rear-end impact, certainly not during my 15 years of ownership. Since the car was stripped to bare metal for the repainting (including removal of bumpers), is it possible that the minor issue you noted could have occurred during reassembly of the rear bumper? I have pictures of the repainting but could not find one with the rear bumper off.
@palien I forwarded a supplemental bunch of photos from under the engine to PCAR, but I'm not sure if they have been uploaded.
very cool spec car, there does seem to be a minor impact on the rear driver side. Bumper is wedged into the tail light and rotated clockwise pushing the whole assembly thus causing the tail light and trunk to be misaligned. Is there any records or signs of repair? Thank you in advance for your time.
@RStJohn Yes, the cooling tube that travels above the fan shroud to the right of the fan.
Thank you.
Any chance we could get some pictures of under the engine and gearbox please.
@Cartex707- No. I do not have any service records before I purchased the vehicle.
Do you have a service record showing the head bolts have been replaced? Maybe even a valve job done at the same time? Thank you.
@Chiro4Life My mechanic tells me that this car does not have an intercooler. Perhaps you are referring to the cooling tube.
@palien Yes. All windows, the windshield and back window were removed, and seals were replaced where required.
Bid in the amount of $20,250
@RStJohn during the paint, were the screens removed and seals replaced? Thanks.
@tommeron Typo error in my previous note. In 2010, the odometer read 79,000 miles, not 17,000 miles. My apologies.
@tommeron I looked through my records and found a compression test in 2010 when the car had about 17,000. miles (at present the odo reads 96,000 miles). All pistons were 155-160 psi.
@Froggy618 To the best of my knowledge, it was never rear-ended, certainly not in the 15 years I have had the car. When it was repainted in 2010, the entire body was stripped to bare metal. There was no Bondo, fibreglass or anything else seen.
@palien The sunroof is fully operational and sealed. The entire car was stripped to bare metal, including pillars and roof and repainted to factory specs (Platinum Metallic).
@Chiro4Life No. I have never had an engine temp problem. In fact, the engine tends to run on the cool end of the temp gauge. Nevertheless, I am checking with my mechanic regarding a possible replacement.
Does the sunroof work and seal OK. Also is the pillar post painted to original or is that the old gold in picture 59/61?
The hot air duct for the right intercooler is damaged and cracked. Are there any issues with engine overheating?

@RStJohn Can you add the compression test results from previous years? And if you're able to get a video of it driving, please have the driver run through all the gears up and down during the test. Thank you and GLWTA!
@Tripledigit OOOps! The car was on a trickle charger before I took it out of the garage for the photos. I didn't close the lid completely. Good observation.
Bid in the amount of $5,250
Thank you @RStJohn and I’m sorry to hear about your condition. I’m sure your SC will end up in the garage of an enthusiast who enjoys it as much as you do. In a good amount of the photos, it looks like the frunk isn’t fully closed. Is that the case?
@Tripledigit Because of partial loss of vision (glaucoma), I no longer drive. I am trying to line up a driver, so I hope to add a video soon. I am unfamiliar with the US requirements for the importation of a historic vehicle. I don't think a tariff applies. I will try to confirm. No leaks or water intrusion. Exhaust system is untouched in past 15 years since I bought it. Emission testing is not required in Ontario for historic cars. I regret I did not do a compression test, but for what it’s worth, it was done when I bought the car and repeated a couple of years ago with no issues.
@garyklein911 Some engine photos are added.
@garyklein911 I'll see what I can do for engine shots.
Beautiful SC! Couple questions for the seller:
Can you coordinate shipping to the US? I presume this car could be imported with no tariffs - may you confirm?
Is a driving video available?
Any fluid leaks or water intrusion issues?
I see this is a catalyst car. Is the factory smog equipment installed?
Has a compression test been completed?
Would it be possible to just use your phone camera to get some under the engine views? Sure would be helpful. Thanks.

@jbauto When a headlight went out a couple of months ago, I realised the headlights were upgraded to H4.
@garyklein911 Sorry, but I don't have access to a lift. The attached photos are the best I could do with a cell phone. Regarding car history, as far as I know, there were no accidents or signs of one when the car was stripped to bare metal for paint restoration. Honestly, initially, I was not aware of the wrong colour when I bought it. It was gold. Later, I realised it was not factory spec, and I felt I had to redo the paint.
Pics of engine bottom, exhaust system, suspension, brakes and trunk area would be helpful. Any known accidents? Any known reason from previous owner why it was painted a different color, esp when it is a special model featuring this color?
Looks like the frunk lid is open. Are those 1984 headlights? Interesting Spec. GL
I am a long time Porsche guy and I have loved driving this unique example of Porsche excellence. With the exception of the radio, I have always kept everything original. All numbers match. During the past 15 years, I have had no major technical problems, and the only significant expense was returning the paint colour to the original factory spec shortly after I purchased the car.
@garyklein911 The engine is a stock 3.0 L engine. The transmission is a stock 5-speed with no changes. All numbers match CoA and are original. Both engine and transmission have only required routine maintenance.
Thanks. I haven’t looked at all the pics yet, but can you summarize the engine upgrades/engine work/trans work/suspension upgrades, etc.
@garyklein911 It is a USA car, purchased in Tennessee, and brought into Canada in 2010.
Is this a USA car? Was imported from US to Canada? I understand if true, it helps bring back to US?
