The 1974 model year brought significant changes to the Porsche 911, including a larger 2.7-liter engine and new G-Series bodywork with distinctive impact bumpers. This 1974 Porsche 911 Coupe was acquired by the seller in 2020 and underwent refurbishment, which was completed in 2022. The car was refinished in Guards Red and fitted with rear fender flares, Euro-spec bumperettes, a fiberglass ducktail rear spoiler, 16” Fuchs RSR-style wheels, reupholstered beige leather seats, and new carpeting. The brakes and suspension were overhauled, the 5-speed manual transaxle was rebuilt, a new clutch was installed, and the flat-six engine was rebuilt and upgraded with JE pistons, oil-fed chain tensioners, 964 camshafts, a Carrera 3.2 oil pump, Weber carburetors, and SSI heat exchangers. This tastefully modified and refurbished 911 is now being offered for auction out of Canada.
This non-sunroof coupe was stripped of its original Silver Metallic paint and refinished in Guards Red in 2022. Rear fender flares were installed along with Euro-spec headlights and bumperettes, black headlight rings, a front chin spoiler, a fiberglass ducktail rear spoiler, Porsche script side stripes, and 16” Fuchs RSR-style wheels.
The cabin was refurbished with reupholstered beige leather seats and matching carpets in 2022. It features a black dashboard, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, a heater, an analog clock, VDO gauges, a Kenwood stereo, and aftermarket speakers.
Power comes from an air-cooled 2.7-liter flat-six engine that was rebuilt in 2022 with 9.5:1 compression JE pistons, 964 camshafts, oil-fed chain tensioners, engine case savers, a Carrera 3.2 oil pump, Weber carburetors, and SSI heat exchangers. It drives the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle that was rebuilt and fitted with a new clutch in 2022. The seller states the suspension and braking system were also overhauled during that time.
This sale will include a Nova Scotia registration.

The car was stripped to bare metal during the 2022 restoration, and the entire bottom was replaced

According to the builder, this particular setup—with the 964 cams, Weber carbs, 9.5:1 JE pistons, and SSI heat exchangers—should be putting out around 220+ horsepower, a healthy bump from the original ~160hp these 2.7 made from the factory. It really wakes up the car and makes it an absolute blast to drive.

Beautiful car - I have a 75…. What rust existed and was repaired? These pre galvanized cars often have rust in the nose, the battery box, the rear buckets, the firewall etc. Any pictures ?
