This 1971 Porsche 911T Targa is finished in Silver Metallic over a Black interior and features a 2.2-liter flat-six engine with dual Zenith carburetors and a 5-speed manual transaxle. The car is said to have remained under the care of two previous owners in California and has traveled approximately 103k miles based on the corresponding records. Accompanied by its original blue license plates, this classic air-cooled Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.

This 911T is finished in Silver Metallic (8010) with a removable black roof panel. The car features 911S-style gold lettering on the rear decklid and brushed silver Targa bar, as well as aluminum rocker panel covers and chrome bumperettes with rubber overriders. Other details include front vent windows, chrome headlight rings, a fender-mounted antenna, a driver’s side mirror, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels. The seller notes the car was previously refinished in its original color, and some minor imperfections can be seen, including small bubbles on the right rear quarter panel. The car rides on an older set of Michelin tires. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.

The cabin is lined with Charcoal loop carpeting and Black leatherette upholstery featuring basketweave pattern inserts on the seat centers, dashboard, and door panels. Equipment includes a leather steering wheel cover, manual window rollers, an aftermarket cassette stereo, and aftermarket speakers mounted in the door panels and on the rear parcel shelf. The seller notes the door panels have been reupholstered, and the carpets are believed to have been replaced.

Power comes from an air-cooled 2.2-liter flat-six engine paired with dual Zenith carburetors and a 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes the carburetors have been rebuilt and refinished, the engine received a valve adjustment, and the fuel tank was flushed, boiled, and refurbished with all new components. The seller recommends a future refresh as the engine has minor oil seepage and the 901 transmission exhibits typical wear consistent with age.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a spare tire, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Offered here is a genuine Northern California example not hit. Not a rusty California blue plate car. That is a two-owner example, which was a one-owner car up until 3 years ago, and has retained California residency and has just undergone servicing and is ready for enjoyment.”

@SCTazmon absolutely and sorry for the late reply. This car I sold to a friend of mine who put very few miles on it. And then it's back with me. It's all serviced up fresh and ready.
@seller - thank you for the info!
A fun note. This car has done not one but two distance drives from Monterey CA down to the LA area. And recently back to Monterey.
@SCTazmon there is no CoA. When I acquired the car from the original owner he said the engine was never changed the car is nicely documented and has just over 100k original miles.
The numbers all are inline. And let's be honest it has the original Zenith carburetors. Which were recently restored.
The best I can say is it's believed to be numbers matching with no reason to see otherwise
@bigvitty4u - see my question below?
Does the car come with a COA - are the numbers matching?

@sylg85 also sorry. I should have mentioned I am out of town for the holiday weekend. There is a driving video in the gallery. Please watch it
@sylg85 the gearbox is ok. Typical 901 you can't aggressively shift it especially from first to second.
Could it be refreshed? Absolutely. It's not freshly rebuilt. But is a driving functionality ok transmission.
how is the gearbox? can we get a driving video please?
@bigvitty4u no not AC but super cool period speakers
Cool 911. What are the vents shown in photos 56, 57, and 91? Is that an after-market AC?
Hello everyone and welcome to the auction! I'm here to answer questions and anything I can do to help. Good luck and happy bidding!
