For the final model year in 1969, the original 2.0-powered Porsche 911 underwent major updates, including an extended wheelbase for improved handling and the introduction of the new mid-range 911E variant, which featured Bosch mechanical fuel injection borrowed from the 911S. This Porsche 911E is one of approximately 1,968 coupes produced for the worldwide market in 1969 and was delivered new in San Francisco, California. It comes finished in Tangerine over a black interior and equipped with a 5-speed manual transaxle, Koni shocks, four-wheel disc brakes, aluminum rocker and deco trim, chrome bumperettes, and leather bucket seats. The car was passed down to the current owner from his father, who had used it sparingly as a weekend driver in California, and it has been kept mostly in storage for the past several years. Accompanied by the original owner’s manuals, stamped maintenance book, and a California license plate showing years of unbroken registration, this 911E Coupe is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut.
This 911E came factory-finished in Tangerine (6809) and is equipped with optional 911S-style trim including aluminum rocker panel and wheel arch deco trim, anodized gold decklid badging, and thicker rubber moldings on the bumpers. Other equipment includes chrome headlamp wings, a driver’s side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, pop-out rear quarter windows, a polished exhaust tip, and 15” Fuchs alloy wheels. A full-size spare wheel is mounted in the trunk, and the car is equipped with 205/70R14 Hankook Kinergy tires from 2019. The seller indicates the car’s original paint has been well-preserved, with the most notable imperfections being light surface scratches, a small blemish on the right front fender, and a small dent near the passenger door. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.
The cabin features black leather bucket seats with basketweave-patterned inserts and a matching dashboard and door panels. Accessories include aluminum door sill trim, folding rear seatbacks, lap belts, a black leather four-spoke steering wheel, grey carpets, brown coco floor mats, a heater, manual roll-up windows, analog VDO gauges, and an aftermarket Alpine cassette stereo paired with additional speakers in the door pockets. The seller notes, some wear on the dashboard knobs and trim, a small tear on the leather near the passenger door latch, and scratches on some of the gauges. All electronics and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Sharing its Bosch mechanical fuel injection system and CD ignition with the range-topping 911S model, the 911E features an air-cooled 2.0-liter flat-six engine rated at 140 HP and 129 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven through a 5-speed manual transaxle, and stopping power is handled by ventilated disc brakes at each corner. The seller notes a major service was previously carried out, including repairs to the floor and transmission tunnel, a gearbox rebuild, a new clutch, fuel and brake lines, brake pads and rotors, Koni shocks, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor components, a starter, wheel bearings, a clutch cable, and filters.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, the original stamped maintenance book, a California license plate, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This 1969 Porsche 911E Coupe is a stunning example and a well-maintained car.”

I’ve seen this car many times, pics don’t do it justice, stunning in person. If I didn’t already have my ‘71 I would be all over this mint longhood - one owner, original paint in spectacular color, very well maintained, MFI. Hope this goes to a good home and steward. Good luck to bidders, I’ll be jealous of new owner.
We just got the picture of the COA from Porsche. Good luck everyone.

@Workshop5001 I will email you photos of the invoice for the major work.
@993carl993 New wheel bearings were used when repacking the grease to assure no problem would arise.
@singhsales can you provide pics / invoices of floor repair and major service. Does the vehicle come with file or various service records over the years to support it being a one family vehicle and validate the mileage? Is there a COA from Porsche?

It seems highly improbable that a car with 45,000 miles needs wheel bearing replacement.

@SinghSales Regarding in person inspections. We have decided anyone who is interested may come take a look at the car. If you would like to take a look, reach out and we will schedule a day that works. Please disregard my previous comment. We are happy to show you the car!
@Carvest Yes, the engine and transmission are original to the car with matching numbers. They have of course been serviced appropriately to continue functioning properly without any issues. To fix the floor and transmission tunnel, they were flattened out, reshaped, sealed and undercoated. I will upload a picture of the repair shortly. At this time we would prefer no inspections. If there is anything specific you wish to see please let us know and we will do our best to show you. Thank you.
@993carl993 There is no AC in the car. Original 45,500 miles
Hello, does this car have AC? Does the car have 45,500 miles? Or 145,500 miles ?
What a cool car. All the details seem to check out in the pics for a true survivor, including the original one year only 1969 dash pad, the Hirschman antenna profile, and the fasteners in the engine compartment. Good luck with the sale

Do we know if the engine and trans is the original matching numbers to the car, is there a COA? Also concerning the floor of the car, from the bottom looking up it looks perfect, has the the entire floor and tunnel been replaced? Is the car available for an inspection? Is there photos of the floor repair? The car look very nice but it's always good to see it inperson.

Yes thank you for pointing that out @87_G50 the wheels are indeed 14" Fuchs. It is a Beautiful 1 family owned car. Good luck to all bidders!
@DLentinello The fan shroud is green.
The 2.0 liter engine is correct for the 911E
The 69 E should have a 2.2 liter engine and the engine shroud should be Green . Is it not the original engine???also how many miles are on the car? Nice car though ….
Bid in the amount of $30,000
Pretty car nicely presented. Need to update the ad copy as this car has 14” not 15” Fuchs. GLWTS
