The C3 introduced new styling and drivability to the early Chevrolet Corvette. Among the second generation to carry the Stingray nameplate, this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible is powered by a desirable 427ci V8 engine and features an optional Tri-Power configuration along with a Turbo Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission. Finished in black over a matching leather interior, the car equips a black soft top, a Monza title front end, a vented hood, side exhaust outlets, chrome trim, and more. This well-presented example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oklahoma. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.

Compared to its predecessor, the C3 showcases a new design with a longer, lower, and wider stance, featuring pop-up headlights, sculpted fender flares, a sharply pointed front end, and chrome bumpers. This example has been refinished in black with a matching manually operated convertible soft top. It showcases a Monza tilt front end, a vented hood, side louvers, fender vents, and side exhaust outlets. The seller adds that a ceramic coating has been performed in preparation for the sale. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The driver is situated within a black leather interior with chrome accents. Equipment includes a three-spoke steering wheel, lap belts, roll-up windows, and a passenger’s side dashboard-mounted map pocket. The center stack displays an analog clock and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. All gauges and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.

Beneath the hood lies a 427ci big-block V8 engine featuring a Tri-Power configuration, which incorporates three two-barrel carburetors. The rear wheels are driven through a Turbo Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission. No outstanding maintenance items have been reported.

This sale will include a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “The story on this car is that it was a Tulsa Oklahoma car its whole life, as it claimed to be 24k original miles; I cannot certify that based on lack of old registration history included with the car. But the car definitely represents a probable 24k original mile car based on its original interior condition, along with a few telltales under the hood with original smog equipment and other items that are still there and in great shape.”

My car in 68 didn’t have them either. !! They actually are very easy to turn. Just remember to roll ever so slightly while turning

As the majority of 435hp optioned cars, they were not equipped with AC, PS, or PB, but the non assist steering and brakes really doesn’t take much effort, so the car is still very enjoyable and comfortable to drive.

Power steering and brake assist ??

We are at the closing of the listing, so do let me know if there any other needed details, and I will be happy to do my best to get them in the closing hours.

I am also happy to assist with shipping or logistical needed at cost with my shipping broker, and I am more than happy to store the car in my climate controlled building if there are any timing needs.

@Scrooge1 This is the 435hp option, which is rare for the automatic.

@RACRX Very Very few of the 435hp came with automatic, let alone a triple black convertible

@sportscarguy3 Oh man, I will have PCar fix the mistake there. The body of the listing says 3 Speed Automatic, and I did read the listing, but missed Manual in the details listing.

  • sportscarguy3 (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

The listing says it’s a manual transmission
Unfortunately, the pictures don’t lie. It’s obviously an automatic transmission.
    ( why ! )

@Jetpaul Definitely a typo, which would be easy to do if he used a interior pic he took versus mine shared here, because this all black interior is hard to get well lit interior pics if inside a building with the top up. So I Al pretty sure the 2 looked like an 7, and the addition of about 50 miles since the appraisal being done seems about right with my personal driving. I can definitely have the appraiser correct the report that I paid for, so it is definitely a missed correction not caught on my watch, so it is an honest 1st hand edit.

  • Jetpaul (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

The actual milage is about 500 miles LESS than the stated mileage on the appraisal??
