This 1966 911 Coupe is among the earliest and purest expressions of Porsche’s most iconic sports car. It came factory-finished in Irish Green over a Black leather interior and optioned with a gas heater, a Talbot side mirror, and a Blaupunkt radio paired with a loudspeaker and an antenna. It is said to have resided in Tacoma, Washington before moving with its owner to Georgia in the late 1970s. After being sold to a repair shop in Connecticut in the early 2000s, it was acquired by the seller in 2003 and recently underwent service including a valve adjustment, oil change, and a brake fluid flush. This early unrestored 911 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of New York accompanied by a partial toolkit, owner’s manuals, and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity showing matching engine and transmission serial numbers.

Representing the 911 in its earliest form, this 1966 example is distinguished from later models by offset gold-anodized model lettering on the rear decklid, silver windshield wiper arms oriented on the passenger’s side, chrome pushbutton door handles, and body moldings with pencil-thin rubber trim strips. This example remains finished in its factory-specified shade of Irish Green, a highly sought-after and historic color. It comes equipped with an optional Talbot mirror on the driver’s side and has been fitted with later-model rubber trim on the front and rear bumperettes. Other equipment includes fog lights mounted below the front bumper, pop-out rear quarter windows, front vent windows, and upgraded 15” Fuchs wheels. The seller indicates the original chromed steel wheels are included as well. The paint is said to have been touched-up above the right rear taillight and the 1999 Michelin tires are recommended for replacement.

The cabin features black leather upholstery complemented by woodgrain dashboard trim, a wooden gear knob, and a wood-rimmed four-spoke steering wheel. Equipment includes a 911 badge on the passenger side dashboard, a locking glovebox, headrests, seatbelts with Porsche-crested buckles, a Blaupunkt AM/SW/FM radio, a heater, black rubber floor mats, and analog VDO gauges with green markings.

Power comes from an air-cooled 2.0-liter Type 901/01 flat-six engine with dual carburetors, cast aluminum pistons, steel connecting rods, and a forged counterbalanced crankshaft. The rear wheels are driven through a Type 902/01 5-speed manual transaxle. The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows matching engine case and transmission serial numbers. The seller indicates standard routine maintenance was observed during their 20 years of ownership and the car was recently serviced with a valve adjustment, oil change, and brake fluid flush.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a partial toolkit, original 15” chromed steel wheels, a Porsche COA, and a clean title.
