This 1959 Porsche 356A Coupe replica was completed in Southern California in November of 2021 and comes finished in Dolomite Silver over a black leather interior. It was acquired by its current owner in January 2022 and is built on a 1973 Volkswagen Beetle chassis. It features an 1835cc flat-four engine installed in August 2023, Fuchs wheels, a custom sound system, and many original Porsche parts including 914 gauges, a 356 steering wheel, various Porsche trim pieces, pop-out rear windows, and more. This replica has earned multiple awards, including two 1st-place finishes and a Best in Show. It is now being offered for auction on PCARMARKET out of Florida after the inital buyer failed to complete the transaction. Click here to view the previous PCARMARKET listing.

This 356 comes finished in Dolomite Silver and features matching bumpers, dual side mirrors, Porsche badging, and a set of 15” staggered-width Fuchs wheels dressed in Kuhmo tires sized 175/55 in front and 195/55 in the rear. The finish is said to remain very well preserved while showing some imperfections on the passenger door and a small scratch (less than a quarter of an inch) on the rear end, detailed images can be found in the gallery. Since August 2023, the vehicle has received multiple wins at local and major car shows for best overall and best import/replica.

The cabin features light grey upholstery, and the front seats are trimmed in black leather with Porsche crested headrests. Details include a Porsche 356 steering wheel, an analog clock, Porsche rally clocks, original Porsche rear windows, and a custom sound system including a Pioneer Bluetooth radio head unit and speakers. The seller notes that a minor imperfection is present on the rear carpet and that replacement Porsche 914 gauges have been installed. The car's true mileage is said to be approximately 1,500.

An air-cooled 1835cc flat-four-cylinder engine was installed in August 2023. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual transaxle and the chassis includes adjustable suspension at the front and rear. The seller has provided a collection of build records and notes that routine oil and filter services have been carried out every 6 months. A recent major service is said to have included a tune-up, valve adjustment, carburetor service, and brake service.

This sale will include a collection of records and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "This 1959 Coupe balances the lightweight driver-focused attitude of the 356 with the versatility of the Speedster. The gorgeous replica covered in glassy Dolomite Silver takes it several steps further, thanks a recently installed 1835cc by the masters at Fisher Buggies in Tampa, FL. The combination of interior and exterior details, coupled with the distinct lines of this year's offering, has made it a proven and definitive show-winner! Good luck bidding!"

are the rear wheels toed in or are the fenders flared? Something looks kinda strange with regard to the rear wheels and the front area of the rear wheelopening.

@OldSchool Thanks for the compliment! I had asked about this and it was actually for several reasons... form/fit/function/look.

  • OldSchool 3 days, 18 hoursago

Love the car. I am sure someone is going to have a lot of fun with it. Quick question. Is it to keep cars looks closer to original or for functional reasons that wider rims/spacers are not used?

For the bidder with question about the ratio - it is a 4:11 transmission which came off a 1968 Beetle. The car is now out of the shop. Valves adjusted and oil changed. Invoice senr to PCar Market - they will upload soon after its proofed.

@Fosterbeagle I am handling the sale myself as I will be back Tuesday. I can get you pictures of door hinges in a few hours. For the mechanical stuff you can contact Fisher Buggies directly in Tampa. I don't do mechanical. It does have a working tach. Let me know if you need anything else.

  • Fosterbeagle (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

If you are 12 hours ahead of EST, who is handling the sale for you? Would it be possible to get photos of the door hinges? Can you advise about the transmission ratios, or advise what it came from? Some have such low gearing that 60 mph + has the engine running at high revs. Is there a working tach?

  • cbaerga1969 (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

To be clear, the mileage on listing was accurate 1.5 year ago and before the 1835cc motor was installed. Those invoices are attached. Current mileage is <200 (we only drive to car shows and the occasional cruise events near Tampa). Engine still being broke into but I will have Fisher change oil and adjust valves prior to the sale). The documented evidence will be uploaded by Thursday of next week.

  • cbaerga1969 (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

Hello everyone and my apologies for the delay... I am 12 hours ahead of EST but will do my best to get back to you ASAP. The shell was sourced from Envemo (out of Brasilia) accoring to the documentation. I will be uploading that in the next day when I have a moment. I understand and was able to verify it is the same or similar to those used by Kitman at some point. The builder is not JPS nor Vintage.

  • Neila 1 week, 2 daysago

Who is the manufacturer of the car??

  • kcarlos 1 week, 2 daysago

    JPS?
