The Worlds most famous Outlaw will sell at NO RESERVE! Much has been written about Magnus Walker (Urban Outlaw) and what he himself called “his best build to date”, the STR ll. You will find Urban Outlaw stickers and wheels at Porsche meets all over the globe. This is your opportunity to own the actual car.
This STR project has become his most famous after high-profile television appearances on Jay Leno’s Garage and Fifth Gear. It also graced the cover of Road & Track Magazine, Total 911 and hundreds of online editorials and blogs.
Most people that meet Magnus are drawn in by his charisma and genuine passion for the Porsche brand. Few however are familiar with just how special this car is. STR ll was inspired by 2 of Magnus’ favorite 911s, the 1968 911R and the 1972 911ST. STR ll began life as a 1972 911T and releases 275 hp from its 3.2-liter engine with a 915 transmission.
The suspension was thoroughly modernized to handle the increased power. The car is also equipped with Limited Slip, 4-Wheel Ventilated Disc Brakes, and Bosch Mechanical Fuel Injection. Walker stated his intention was to build a comfortably streetable racecar with knife-edge handling. Mission accomplished.
The period correct minimalist black leather interior is all business and the build quality is immediately recognized. The seats hold you in place comfortably as you row through the 915 gear box. The visceral driving experience is one the true air-cooled Porsche driver longs for.
History shows that Magnus doesn’t generally sell his personal creations as they're personal projects and true labors of love.
What makes a car worth more than the sum of its parts? Looks, performance, and rarity are part of the equation. But sometimes there is more to it than one can put a finger on. Take the Janis Joplin 356 that sold at RM Sotheby’s in NYC a few years back. The car sold for just shy of $1.8 million. This was more than 800% over a typical 356 of the same year. Maybe it was the celebrity ownership or art design. No one really knows.
The only question let to ask is… Who will be the next steward of this iconic Porsche

Sold for $275,000
I wonder how much time and money Magnus actually unvested in this outlaw?
To answer the questions and speculation........as the buyer I will probably be shipping the STR to the UK to use in Europe, hopefully visiting the Porsche museum, while it is for my collection it is very much going to used, enjoyed and seen. Hopefully to inspire another generation of Porsche enthusiasts. We are all inspired, at an early age by something, as was Magnus, and I hope this car does that for others.
@Petroli Thank you. Really excited. CheeRS
@PIHP63 congrats! and now you not only have his Hot Wheels - you have his freaking car ;) what a great world we live in.
Didn't this car sell for a lot more the last time it sold?

If this ends at this price I would say @PIHP63 stole this car. All of the respected opinions point to a much higher value. Good luck to the bidders, wish I was one of them.
@Petroli @Adam I know dude. want to see what happens too.
LESS THAN 24 HOURS AND NEW HOME FOR MAGNUS!
Just to address the previous discussion about the value of the Big-bore MFI powerplant in this car. If the tool you are most skilled with is a pen, and you have to write a check for this motor, yeah it's going to be damn near six figures. We're living in a time where a mild refresh on a 911SC can be $20,000.00.
Start from nothing and find a 3.0L donor and enough rare and expensive bits to put together an MFI system, rebuild the pump to suit, rebuild and bore the throttle bodies and stacks, machine the heads for injectors, figure out the pump drive, etc. then put it all together with ancillaries like an ignition and fuel system and exhaust and get it running and tune it? And that's IF you can find someone with the expertise, and room in their schedule.....

starting to get excited about watching this End on Friday... going to be crazy to see what happens. Somebody is going to wake up Saturday AM and think to his or herself "I now own a MAGNUS WALKER built 911"
Hi All,
Hopefully I can help answer a few questions.
1. This 911 Outlaw is killer and does everything right and was built with great thought in mind, not just for the looks. I have driven it personally.
2. This car was sold at the Gooding and Company auction, Pebble Beach 2013. It sold for $302,500 at the time, being purchased by a well-known Porsche collector family.
3. Later it was traded or sold to Aston Martin of New England. The well-known Porsche family believed it was more of a California Hot Rod (which it is and that's the charm about it) and not in keeping with their factory build cars. Later it was sold for over $325,000 to another Porsche collector in Toronto. That is where my intel ends.
Lastly and I have no skin in the game, but have built, restored and owned many cool 911's throughout the years, both hot rod and cool factory RS's, RSR's. As far as net worth and this is irrelevant of what the bidding gets too. You should add up all the parts that were used to build this 911, just parts and see what it comes out to. Then add a real and proper straight 911 tub, a "straight" tub, not some junk yard dog, that are cobbled together build so many of the "so called" 911 hot rods. Lastly, just for kicks add up the professional labor that even Mr. Walker had to pay for himself. See what it all adds up to, you may just be surprised and some of your cheapo comments will have to be put aside.
Ok, these are just my thought and comments and can be marked to zero by all those who deem them worthless.
My thought is that this is a piece of Porsche history and more so because it is cool that and Englishman with dreads gained the respect of Porsche. It will be part of Porsche history no matter what because it has existed and had been praised by many since its build.
I loved driving it and hope someone gives it a loving home where it can be used and enjoyed the way not was meant.
Whoever gets it will be a lucky person.
What is the estimate here for this car? I’ve seen the $500k figure being thrown around. I agree with 350ish but 500??

Yeah Magnus is cool. But I’m more in awe of this car. Most people spend lots of time and money trying make their outlaw look different or unique only to come up with something a bit weird or underwhelming . Magnus nailed it with this car! The proportions and color scheme are spot on. Just enough flair with the perfect stance. The next keeper of this treasure needs to drive the snot out if it as well as just sit and admire how awesome it looks. GLTALL
1 WEEK LEFT PEOPLE!
@Slim_Chance 277 I mean! used to so many 9's ;)
@Slim_Chance Yeah I saw that 977 get clipped.. nope not that one.
Well, at least it isn't this one:

@aft4468 Thank you for the additional information. That history is helpful.
@wescampbell66 as you probably know shortly after this car was on Jay Leno with Magnus he sold the car. It did reside with two owners since then as is very common with these rare, ultra collectible automobiles.
Very unique car with a great deal of customization! Love the door handles, very trick.
To be clear, Magnus is not the current owner, correct? In the gallery, the note to the next custodian is dated 2013. Can you clarify?
Someone is going to be having some fun owning and driving this beauty!!!
Beautiful
@HowS @Dipper17
This car has Gold and plenty of it. The motor in this car alone is 6 figures every Porsche segment has its fans, enthusists and collectors. As far as Outlaws go, this is one of the worlds most special and for many reasons.
Six figures for a 3.2SS with MFI ? Not unless its got some gold plated parts.
@aft4468 Well you learn something every day!
Its getting hot in here!!!

@Archer911Carrera I did check with my mechanic and he concurs with what the others have just said. Very common practice. Hope this helps.

@Archer911Carrera JB Weld is a common sealant used to seal the metal block plugs when rebuilding. If you don't they sometimes leak. Keeping Air/Oil cooled Porsche's from leaking is still a challenge.
@Archer911Carrera The JB weld is the commonly accepted means of sealing the plain press fit aluminum plugs for the oil galleys in a 911 block. An indication this motor was built right.
Not sure who is responsible for writing the copy, but the listing is short on technical details that matter (ventilated 4 wheel disc brakes LOL.... on a 911, really?) but Magnus has a web page http://magnuswalker911.blogspot.com/p/porsche-911-72str-002.html dedicated to this build.
For me, the 3.2SS MFI powerplant is the centerpiece of the car and is droolworthy all on it's own....... and probably a six figure endeavor unto itself.

Bid in the amount of $145,000
@Archer911Carrera Hi. I will be near the car tomorrow, I will take a look at that and get you an answer. Thanks for the bid!
@Archer911Carrera a Singer will
Cost more than double this car with the Magnus Premium. I think any quality build without cutting corners and using used parts etc costs between $150-$250k depending on specs. A real long hood donor for $20k would probably have so much rust that you couldn’t do a $20k respray so it would require a lot of body work or paying significantly more for a quality donor.
QUESTION for the seller:
Looking at 2 views of the engine block, one from beneath and one from behind, there appears to be two areas of the block that have what looks like JB Weld applied, perhaps to plug a tapped hole, etc. Can you say if this is filler and why was it used? Thanks.

This was however the Magnus Build on Jay Leno!
Someone asked me on IG last night if this is the one he crashed on a media ride with a journalist- he slid his 277 into an oncoming car which diverted him to whack a parked tractor trailer truck. This one wasn’t that one as FYI.
@faz11ken I agree with you on almost everything except "Outlaw" pricing.
I have seen many an outlaw for sale that began with a $20k donor, had a $20k respray, a $25k engine rebuild, a $10k interior refit, and another $10k in suspension, oil cooler, carbs or FI work end up with a price tag north of $200k. That's a lot of mark up. I have no idea what it cost to remake this car but I will bid up to the point where I think the value is to me.
That being said I think this car falls under the category of "iconic" not just because Walker packaged the Urban Outlaw image so brilliantly but because this car has design elements that IMHO are exemplary. It looks great, it sounds great, and I am sure it feels great to drive.
I am sure someone will pay a significant premium for this car but in a world where icons and celebrities rule this should be expected.
p.s. I'd rather have this car than a Singer any day...
If I’m not mistaken this car has a Hot wheels modeled after it. I would have included a pic of that. How many people can say they own a car with a identically matching hotwheel? Pretty cool
@Archer911carrera
You put a few interesting questions out there. Sorry for any typos. I’m on phone typing this and the text is really small.
I guess a few things should be mentioned. This car part: This is a real longhood and not backdate. It’s not singer or Gunther like detaileded (at $700k - $2Million) but this car is very nicely built and to many an even more desirable take on the Outlaw. Magnus seems to be at the the beginning of his rise to fame and is very well respected and liked by an even larger crowd than the Porsche community. He has already achieving mainstream celebrity. He has Match Box cars, Movies, documentaries and seems to be building international momentum.
Yes, the car can easily be put away and shown to some big collectors friends or Porsche Museum. What a shame that would be. What would a car like this sell for without everything attached to it?
I was at rennsport 6 and saw many and spoke to a few hotrod outlaws owners and builders. $300k seem to be the middle ground for decently built cars. Some over $300k and a lot higher. I met a few owners of gbody backdated cars with a standard 3.2L (well built) that had big money into them. This car is worth what someone is willing to pay. Who’s buying? A driver, and art collector, a Porsche Collector, investor. This is a living cultural icons car. To some it’s a car to others it’s much more, not unlike many special collectible things of all kinds. . So, If I had to guess a number, I would say....sorry gotta get ready for work. Good Luck to all and Congrats to whoever wins this beauty.

@Archer911Carrera @Archer911Carrera*
@archer811carrera good points. This car is Art and Magnus is the Artist - so to answer your first question it would probably be worth half as much. But because it was created by the most famous Porsche Artist - it’s worth double or more. We’ll see what happens in less than 2 weeks!
Bid in the amount of $100,000
So a few questions for you guys who REALLY understand the car market and how celebrity ownership influences price:
1) what would this car be worth if there was no Magnus Walker associated with it?
2) given that is was for sale at Austin Martin of New England, I believe last year for something around $300k (please correct me if I am wrong) and I don't know if it was sold or not, what is it worth now?
3) would it would make a good tourist attraction at a car museum, as long as Magnus has a good reputation in the world, and would you pay to see it?
Thank you for your insight...

Has to be the most sought after outlaw of them all. Can this car be worth 400k plus?
Bid in the amount of $85,000
Bid in the amount of $75,911
Nice to see an "outlaw" that follows at least a few rules..... like the proper installation of rubber seals between the body and bumpers. Or a stance that is lower at the front than the back.
The question is... will it go into a collection as a museum piece or will it be driven as it should be? Either way, good luck to the new owner.
Wow! That is stealthy looking. I met Magnus when I was at Rennsport last year. What a nice guy. This car should make someone pretty happy

Considering that he has stated that he only builds the cars for himself, and rarely sells them, this should be a bit of an outlier in the outlaw market. Whomever wins, please drive the freakin' wheels off this thing.
Bid in the amount of $75,000
The red, white, and blue with gold accents is a killer combo that could only be pulled off by this or a race car. Well done.
What do yall think of this STR II? Slash/what's your favorite Magnus Walker build?
HERE WE GO!
