Available for auction is an illuminated RUF Automobile sign. According to the seller, this sign was displayed by RUF at their Salon in Canada and measures 82" x 40”. This hallmark rare RUF signage has been in the private hands of a Porsche/RUF collector who owned several RUF models, and the sign was housed at his one-of-a-kind Porsche mancave. You simply won't see another fascinating Porsche RUF dealership sign in existence.
For more than 80 years, the RUF brand has stood for excellence in the automotive world. Located in the heart of Bavaria, Germany, Rüf Automobile is a family-owned car manufacturer. In addition to the family name of the founder Alois Ruf Sr., Ruf stands for engineering excellence, originality, passion, and pure driving excitement. The vaunted history of RUF Automobile started in 1939 by Alois Ruf Sr. as a German service garage but later began experimenting with vehicle designs in the late 1940s. The love of automobile customization and design was passed down to Alois Jr. when he began servicing and restoring Porsches in the early 60s. It wasn't until 1975 after the passing of Alois Sr. that the first RUF model Porsche came into existence. The RUF 930 was officially unveiled in 1977, followed by the naturally aspirated 911 SCR in 1978.
Today, RUF continues its long history of creating custom Porsches. The family business stands out not only due to its in-house manufactured high-performance and elegant vehicles, but also for its attention to detail and craftsmanship that is evident in every RUF car that leaves the factory. Besides Ruf Automobile GmbH's headquarters and its subsidiary in Pfaffenhausen, the company is represented in Canada, Chile, Great Britain, China, Thailand, and Japan as well. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.
