Available for auction is the increasingly rare, large-scale illuminated Porsche dealership letter set. This authentic Porsche dealership sign measures approximately 20 feet in total length and will make an impressive visual impact on any high-end private collection, "Man Cave" or Garage. Each letter of these PORSCHE letters measures 30" inches wide by 15" inches tall and 5" in thickness and 20 feet in length.
According to the seller, this particular sign came available from a famed Northern California Porsche dealership just north of San Francisco. The California Clean Energy Act (SB 100) was enacted statewide and facilitated that ALL of the Porche dealership signs must be in compliance with the California law that went into effect in 2018. As a result, all signage in California had to comply with Senate Bill 100 to meet the State of California's clean energy mandate and regulations. Porsche Dealerships statewide had to meet compliance requirements in order to receive their city, county, and state sign permits. Throughout California, new SB 100-compliant replacement signage was installed at all Porsche dealerships. The signs are supposed to be dismantled and destroyed when removed, as required by Porsche. However, as highly prized and coveted collectible items go, several of these precious and rare signs slipped through the cracks and ended up in private hands.
In its full restoration, the sign was required to be converted to the California Clean Energy (SB 100) specifications. This was done utilizing state of California-approved LED lighting. Each letter is fully restored and reconstructed of a Porsche silver-gray finished metal case capped with German UV protectant red plastic. This special Porsche signage was prominently seen at the bay area dealership.
These large-scale 20 feet wide Porsche dealership letters almost never come onto the open market out of private collectors' hands. Don’t miss out on this rare and unique opportunity to own an authentic piece of Porsche dealership and advertising history. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.

As this historic auction continues to gain momentum with less than 21 hours remaining to secure this precious Porsche artifact that fortunately escaped being dismantled and destroyed (as required by Porsche) and ended up in here on Pcar Market.
Its a safe bet that the bidding will intensify in the remaining hours until the electronic hammer falls at: 4:30 PM EST.
The chance to secure such an exclusive offering for this unique ownership opportunity is unprecedented.
This special opportunity is a totally unforeseen consequence of California’s SB 100 Energy Act and a fantastic provenance to accompany this coveted piece of Porsche memorabilia.
Inasmuch, that this 20ft long PORSCHE sign may cost as much as a used 356 or a 911 in need of restoration, there are thousands of needy examples of either car, but only a select few of these exclusively precious Porsche Dealership signs in the world to be had.
DON'T LET THIS HALCYON OPPORTUNITY TO SECURE ONE OF THE GREATEST PORSCHE ARTIFACT FINDS TO SURFACE OUT OF THE BARN FIND/GARAGE FIND REALM IN RECIENT HISTORY BE MISSED!
This elite Porsche collector fraternity who have membership into this rarified ownership club of an authentic PORSCHE Dealership sign understand the "1 of ?" exclusive limited rareness of special Pcar models.
The Carrera GT, 918 Spyder, 911 RS, "935 Street", Porsche 993 Turbo Cabriolet, Porsche 964 Speedster Turbo-Look just to name a few of the rarities by Porsche.
Without reservation its not far fetched that this Porsche Dealership sign is among the rarest of those vaunted Porsche models and memorabilia...
even much more exclusive as a highly collectible (TABOO)Porsche artifact.
Notable that earlier this year (January 2022) at the prestigious BARRETT-JACKSON Auctions in Scottsdale Arizona, where some of the most astute, sophisticated car collectors in the world convene and bid to expand their car collections.
A ( much smaller size:120"x9"x9" ) PORSCHE dealership sign sold for record $57, 500 dollars.

@TubeGuy Thank you for the compliment @TubeGuy the photos and videos truly don't do this very impressive sign it's proper justice.
Given the veracity and integrity of this PORSCHE dealership sign is absolutely 100% authentic and (was) in its original state BEFORE it was RESTORED.
The discretion of the entity and persons who secured the prized PORSCHE sign before it was restored (given that the PORSCHE signs themselves are supposed to be dismantled and destroyed) had complete autonomy to process this sign how they saw fit and was 100% up to them and their qualified discretion.
If they wanted to leave "patina" on the signs or NOT it was totally their decision.
To question what the requirements are of restoring the sign as you did here:
"Once it came down from the dealer, there's no requirement to change a thing.
There are no state or city permits."
Is to be ignorant of what is LEGALLY required by the State of California.
To better familiarize yourself with the California State law governing these signs and Senate Bill 100 (SB 100) check this link here to understand the extensive in-depth requirements that the State of California sets forth: https://www.energy.ca.gov/sb100
The correct decision to FULLY RESTORE the vintage PORSCHE sign to (SB 100) specifications is REQUIRED BY CALIFORNIA LAW...
Period.
Most especially given that even having access to these unique PORSCHE signs is a rare anomaly that makes them highly prized and coveted by collectors around the Globe.
Of course, there are numerous examples of these PORSCHE dealership signs selling around the world on different venues Auction Houses, and online auctions.
Here are just a few examples that sold for $57,000 to $39,981 and just a few months ago here on Pcar Market for $34,999 that you can familiarize yourself with...

In each instance, @TubeGuy (as you noted) these vaunted signs are different in size, age, and restoration.
Some are full restorations and others like one currently on eBay RIGHT NOW where the seller is currently asking $59,000 for his "patina" sign that you mentioned
(that some "patina" should be left)...
Of course, as with any speculation in the rare PORSCHE artifact space in the collector car arena, all of these factors mentioned here are what drive the market for astute Collectors such as yourself @TubeGuy.
Thank you for your question and we look forward to seeing your bid on this amazing PORSCHE signage.
Good luck and BID TO WIN!

Once it came down from the dealer, there's no requirement to change a thing. There are no state or city permits. And what is a reconstructed metal case? A new one? And if you have German UV protectant red plastic, what does that mean?
Part of proving being the genuine deal is patina, and if this was in the bay area for decades I assume, I would make sure that was left as-is to some degree. I see so many signs popping up and they all look different. One of the signs I felt looked most "genuine" had code-required electrical metallic tube on it.
It looks great though. Maybe the seller can shed light on what is original and what isn't. Picture 23 sure does look like it's not been outside. The frame in picture 19 looks new, but I think you stated that.
