Available for auction is this special rare, large-scale illuminated Porsche dealership (7) letter set. This authentic Porsche dealership sign measures approximately 20 feet in total length and will make an impressive visual impact on any high-end private collection, "Man Cave" or Garage.
Each of these Porsche letters measures approximately 30" inches wide by 15" inches tall and 5" in thickness totaling 20 feet in length. According to the seller, this particular sign came available from a famed Northern California Porsche dealership just north of San Francisco.
All signage in California had to comply with Senate Bill 100 to meet the State of California's clean energy mandate and regulations. Porsche dealerships statewide had to meet compliance requirements in order to receive their city, county, and state sign permits. Throughout California, new SB 100-compliant replacement signage was installed at all Porsche dealerships.
In its full restoration, the sign was required to be converted to the California Clean Energy (SB 100) specifications. This was done utilizing state of California-approved LED lighting. Each letter is fully restored and reconstructed of a Porsche silver-gray finished metal case capped with German UV protectant red plastic.
All dealership signage signs are supposed to be dismantled and destroyed when removed, as required by Porsche, however, because these rare artifacts are highly prized and coveted as collectibles, several of these precious and rare signs have slipped through the cracks and ended up in private hands. Authentic Porsche dealership signage almost never comes onto the open market out of private collectors' hands. It's unlikely, that a PORSCHE sign of this magnitude will ever come to market again.
Most all of the California PORSCHE Dealerships signs are now in SB 100 compliance and many of these vaunted and highly desirable signs were very sadly (and shockingly) dismantled and destroyed. (as required by PORSCHE)
To the winner of this incredible PORSCHE signage goes one of the most impressive and fascinating artifacts that any Porsche collector could ever hope to attain.
Not only is it of the highest scale of Porsche collectability and rarity.

In photo number #4 the RED LENSES are affixed on the "P & O" of the PORSCHE sign.
The "SCHE" DO NOT have the RED lensed covering affixed on them so that you can see the inner LED workings of the sign and that all are in perfect working order and illuminate stunningly. Interestingly to note, the restored PORSCHE signage glows exactly with the same lumens as the old ballasted neon tubing.
I assure you that ALL of the PORSCHE letters illuminates evenly and fully with a great glow and high brilliance that is just stunning in detail.
I will add photos of the old Neon tubbing so you can see the difference in the old versus the new SB 100 California (CLEAN ENEGRY) specification LED lighting.

@milesaheadporsche in looking at picture 4 it appears the “R S C H E” are all differently lit than the “P O.” Can you confirm whether the letters appear fully ready as in the P and O vs. seeing individual LEDs as in the R, S, C H and E?
Also, any idea what shipping would be to the DC area?

But no...
There's not any kind of dealer documentation or certification of the signs Dealership origin.
(that's not something the Dealership would do or offer to anyone)
Most especially, given that the signs are supposed to be dismantled & destroyed upon their removal...
(as PORSCHE requires) there no "Certificate of Origin" or any kind of "documentation" for the sign.
