Available for auction is an authentic illuminated Porsche dealership sign acquired from a dealer in Holland and imported into the U.S. four years ago as stated by the seller. Measuring 45.5" tall, 37" wide, and 4.5" deep, this one-sided, three-piece sign features a solid metal frame, a plastic face, and a metal retaining ring.
Power is supplied via a European-spec 220V source, with a 110V converter included for U.S. use. Illumination is provided by four original fluorescent tubes that shine brightly and are fully functional. 
Two predrilled holes on the rear allow for easy mounting, and the original “Porsche” tag remains intact. The seller states this piece is in excellent overall condition, with both the frame and face well preserved after years of careful storage.

@dsdepew If you want to see what an authentic one looks like check the other big auction site. A few years ago one sold for 14k.
@dsdepew Let me guess you own one of these? To start Porsche has never placed a placard on the back of their dealership signs. The only placard would be from the sign manufacturer which was required by law as it is an “electrical appliance”. The metal frame surrounding the sign is also not correct to the originals. There were a number of these exact signs produced by someone in Europe around 10 years ago. Same goes for most of the large red channel script signs you see for sale today. Very few are original. Only with the replica channel letters they were mostly using decals on the back with a Porsche part number. Ridiculous… These are nice signs and I would be proud to have one in my garage but to pay a premium thinking this was from a dealership in the 60’s or 70’s is not cool.

Honestly, how can one verify the originality of something like this? I've had this for several years now and while I dont know the exact story behind the sign, the Porsche tag attached to the rear was the only sign of authenticity for me to go by.
What is your response to it not being authentic ?
