Available for auction is a rare and unusual Honda Service ("Servizio") Italian dealership sign from the 1990s. This sign comes to the seller from outside of Turin, Italy. The sign sat in storage for most of the past decade, following the closure of a Honda dealership facility, and was acquired from a collector who bought it at the closing sale. This particular sign was manufactured in Italy by the well-known automotive signage producer, Serenari Pubblicita as can be seen on the manufacturer's sticker on the bottom of the frame.



Honda has a long history in Italy, first opening a domestic motorcycle production facility in the 1970s and officially started selling automobiles in the country in the early 1990s. As part of the buildout of their dealership network, most of the major metropolitan areas received at least one dedicated dealer and service center, and this sign came from one of the sites located in the Turin area.



The sign features a metal frame, which encases identical matching plastic sign faces with the words "Honda" and "Servizio." The sign has double mounting brackets integrated into the side for wall mounting. The sign is in excellent condition and displays brightly and beautifully. Both faces are free of chips and scratches, with only a few marks barely visible as may be expected given its nearly three-decade age. The sign measures 29" wide x 26" tall x 6" deep.



All of the sign components are present and accounted for, and the electrics feature original components and wiring, with a 3-pronged Italian "Type C" 230V plug exiting out the side. Internal components are accessed by removing 4 screws and removing the sign faces, and illumination is provided by 4 fluorescent tube bulbs. The sign lights up as intended when connected to power, as can be seen in the included video. A voltage transformer will be included in the sale, and the sign includes a custom wooden shipping crate for safe transport. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.
