In a few hours, this gargantuan sign will be going into the collection of a lucky new caretaker. Whether it's the centerpiece, the starting block, or the finishing touch (like there is such a thing::--))))), it will make a fine addition.

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Monday, and welcome to the 2nd to last day of our Xtra Large Bosch Service Sign auction. I hope folks had a great weekend and were able to recharge for the upcoming work week.

Yesterday ended up being a lot of fun with car-guy activities almost all day long. The North Shore cars & coffee had a HUGE turnout even in its alternate location due to construction at the usual spot. There were a lot of “regulars” as well as some cars I’d never seen before like a maroon Renault rally car, a yellow 964 gen Speedster, several XKE’s, and a bunch of just pre and postwar museum pieces. Definitely something for everyone.

That led to lunch at nearby Double Clutch Brewery in neighboring Evanston. That cool spot is owned by another BaT regular who displays parts of his collection inside the brewery. We’ve gotten to know the Brewmaster and collection manager since they opened. They invited us to walk through collection to view new arrivals since our last visit; couldn’t resist that. As a thank you for the tour, we helped with the weekly exchange of cars going into and leaving the Brewery. Hey, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s got to do it. As a thank you for helping move the cars, we were then treated to a sampling of some of the newest Beer offerings yet to be released and asked for feedback. Again, SOMEBODY’S gotta do it. A great car-guy day as a whole.

I hope the car-guy activities have started up wherever you may be reading this.

@rsamerica, awesome handle, thanks for the bid.

@SVROC, thank you for your follow up bid.

@superg909, Thanks for the step up bid, and you're on top.

@mottcom It will depend on how the winner wants it shipped, insured value, etc. Boxing it up with reinforced corners, bubble wrap, and paper will probably be the least expensive and an off the cuff estimate would be around $175 to the East Coast. Crating, actual insured value, distance, and less traveled areas will all increase this figure. Hope that helps. Have a good evening.

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Hump Day, and welcome to the auction of our Bosch Dealer Service Sign. It's certainly a large sign and gets lots of attention. I must've stopped shooting half a dozen times as neighbors and drivers by stopped to inquire. It's the largest version of the sign I've ever seen at over 4' square and over 7 total inches thick. It would make the perfect center piece of any collection, or a great first sign for somebody looking to start their collection.

The sign is out of a local collection that happens to be owned by a long time friend who is an admitted Porsche guy. But, for decades, he’s been finding and collecting some of the rarest Porsche and NON-Porsche memorabilia you’ve ever seen; signs, plaques, clocks, crests, die cast models, you name it, he’s got it. His memorabilia collection takes up almost as much room as his car collection. Now, with the kids out of the house, and their rooms displaying some of these collectibles, the realization has set in that he can’t possibly display everything. So, the decision has been made to let some of it go, and here we are.

Over the next 7 days, I’ll be presenting this sign to the P-Car faithful. Folks who follow my auctions know that I’ve always got a stash of back up pictures to add in as we go; and this listing is no exception. Obviously, discussing a sign for a week isn’t as exciting as watching driving videos, but I’ll try to keep things as interesting as possible with the discussion as well as the picture adding.

Erratic Springtime weather being what it is here in the Chicago area, it rained on and off the whole day I was shooting the sign. Over a period of several hours, I literally wiped down the sign 3 different times to get these shots between annoying sprinkles that would muck it up again. So, I apologize for the quality of the pictures but better ones are on the way if the weather decides to cooperate. Unfortunately, not being inside, you don't get a true sense of the sheer size of this beauty. The measurements don't do it justice as it's really much more impressive in person.

@canyonclassics, cool handle, and thanks for getting us started with your first bid.

    Have a great Wednesday everyone.
