Reviving Porsche’s Carrera designation for the first time since 1977, the Carrera 3.2 debuted in 1984 as the successor to the 911SC and represented the culmination of the G-Series model. Paring a 5-speed manual transmission to its 3.2-liter flat-six, this European example was initially delivered in February 1984 at Voets Autozentrum in Braunschweig, Germany, finished in Slate Blue Metallic over Dark Blue upholstery. It features factory Sport Seats, a rear window wiper, a sunroof, front and rear spoilers, and more. One of its reported two owners is said to have been Tony Corlett, a Marque specialist & author, who owned the car for at least 25 years and imported the vehicle to the United Kingdom in 1998. This Carrera 3.2 is now being offered for auction by its seller with approximately less than 153k kilometers (95k miles) on the odometer.

This example comes finished in Slate Blue Metallic (L661). Factory features include front and rear spoilers, integrated front fog lights, dual exterior mirrors, black-finished rear fender guards, rear bumperettes, and 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in Michelin tires. The seller states the paint remains original with no evidence of damage repairs or rust restoration, although some road wear is noted on the front bumper, bonnet, front valance, and mirrors. Additional images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin features Dark Blue upholstery and includes a power-operated sunroof, leather Sports Seats, front speakers, an electric antenna, automatic speed control, and a rear window wiper. The seller notes slight signs of wear and all gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly. A list of factory options is provided below:

  • M261 - exterior rearview mirror
  • M395 - aluminium rims Fuchs
  • M409 - Sport seats
  • M425 - Rear window wiper
  • M441 - prepared for radio
  • M468 - Green tinted glass
  • M473 - Front and Rear Spoilers
  • M650 - Sunroof

Power is derived from a Euro-spec 3.2-liter flat-six engine rated at 231 HP, an increase of 24 HP compared to its U.S.-spec counterpart. The rear wheels are driven by way smooth 915 5-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that recent work carried out included an engine service and brake overhaul in 2023. An original service booklet with stampings is said to accompany the sale.

This sale will include a clean title, a toolkit, and some documentation including a service booklet.

The seller would like you to know: “First Year Carrera 3.2 (1984). 25+ Years owned by Marque specialist author. Original Paint. These cars are only original once! Diving deeper: It was imported into the UK in 1998 by Tony Corlett. Tony is an aficionado of this model, and wrote the definitive ‘bible’ on the model ‘Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera’ (a copy of the book is included in the sale). As the author of the book, and also the Porsche Club Great Britain model specialist for 20+ Years, you can be assured that Tony knew how to purchase the very best vehicle for his long-term enjoyment, and importantly how to preserve such an original example. This car is featured throughout Tony’s book which nicely documents an important chapter in the history of this special machine. The 1984 Model Year was a big step for Porsche with the first of the G-series cars to feature a fully electronic engine management system. The result is a very sporty and torquey engine, combined with the lightweight construction of the G-Model chassis to provide a very exciting driving experience in the classic Porsche 911 silhouette. The first-year model also retains some unique features such as the 3-spoke steering wheel (latterly 4-spoke), the ‘tombstone sport seats’, and the Engine oil cooler. To learn more about this model, suggest you read Tony’s book! Mechanically, the car drives very well. The 915 gearbox shifts without fault. It benefits from recent work that includes a brake caliper overhaul, and is fully serviced so that the next owner can be confident of its future use."

@Silversala the previous owner (Tony Corlett) lived in the Isle of Man. Hence the lack of MOT history. Whilst in his ownership, he had a small collection of cars and the total mileage covered over the 23 Year period was about 5000kms. His mechanical skills allowed good care of the vehicle during its use, he advised me of regular oil changes. The condition of the car is a testament to his care during ownership

    Afternoon
Is there any documented service history for the car between 2000-2023? I also checked the MOT history but was only able to see one current one.

    Regards

  • pht9 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@tonotormo as the vehicle has a German and a UK log book that details all of the information required on a CoC, I would expect Import should be straightforward.

  • pht9 (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@tonotormo which Country are you looking to import the vehicle ?
Yes, the car has been run regularly, there is also a video showing the cold starting of the engine, and another whilst driving

  • tonotormo (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Hello, do you have the CoC in order to be able to import a vehicle? Also, it appears to car appears to be untaxed since April 2023, date in which more or less was the last time sold. During this 7 months, has the car been started?
    Thanks!

@sjuhawks19 No, it was not part of the original specification. The Factory options are highlighted in the listing. The M codes on the bonnet sticker and in the service book show the M codes. These are then described in the listing.
