Available for auction is a unique collection of six vintage automobile hood mascots, previously displayed at the Zimmerman Museum of Transportation in Los Angeles. Dating from the 1920s to the 1950s, each mascot reflects the era's artistry and the custom tradition of replacing factory hood ornaments with personalized emblems that showcased a driver’s interests or affiliations. 
This collection includes: a striking bronze Art Deco winged angel goddess (7.5” x 4”); a heavy metal Deco-style angel fish (6.5” x 5”); a chrome WWII-era P-51 fighter plane (4.5” x 3”); an original hood ornament from a 1951–54 Ford Mainline Victoria Crestliner, shaped like a jet plane with chrome finish and a mint plastic wing (11.5” x 5” x 3”) showing only minor pitting; a pewter-like mascot made for members of the Royal Automobile Club Association, featuring an enamel British flag; and a rare French Deco mascot by M. Bonnet from the 1920s, depicting a nude dancer reaching skyward while balancing on a tire. 
The seller states all mascots remain in good condition, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship and history. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

As this great auction comes to a close I would like to thank all the bidders and watchers. These Mascots represent a time in Automotive History when you could add your own personality to your car. Before the NHTSA decreed that hood ornaments were dangerous objects.
To Lottacars............All of these pieces are in original condition. The chrome pieces show very minor wear and the brass pieces had a mild cleaning. It is almost impossible to redo a chrome piece, I tried. If it is very heaverly pitted you have to sand blast them, fill in the holes, base coat and redip the chrome. It cost the same to do a hood ornament as an alloy wheel. And thats if you can find someone to do it.
