Hand built in Blackpool from 1967 to 1973 with 1,029 examples produced across several generations, the TVR Vixen was the second TVR production model and features lightweight fiberglass bodywork mounted a tubular frame chassis with independent double-wishbone suspension. This 1979 example is an S2 version that was imported to Canada by the current owner in 2018 before being refinished and equipped with an upgraded Ford 289ci HiPo V8 mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The car also features four-wheel disc brakes, aftermarket coilovers, a Holley carburetor, a Moto-Lita steering wheel, and more. Previously listed on PCARMARKET, this TVR is now being offered for auction out of Canada.
Compared to the original TVR Vixen, the S2 version featured a longer wheelbase, new wraparound taillights, and bolt-fastened fiberglass bodywork which provided easier repairs. This example’s bodyshell is said to have been placed on a rotisserie and refinished in the current shade of light green under current ownership. The car rides on wire-spoke wheels with knock-off spinners and Signet SB-802 tires. Other details include a bullet-style driver’s side mirror, a polished fuel cap, front fender vents, chrome bumpers, dual exhaust tips, a wraparound glass rear window, and a clamshell hood with integrated air intake.
Inside, this TVR features a pair of fixed low-back bucket seats in black leather along with a matching dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Accessories include a three-spoke Moto-Lita steering wheel, an aftermarket shift knob, a heater, a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror, and analog Smiths instrumentation.
Power comes from a replacement 289ci Ford HiPo V8 engine featuring an aluminum intake manifold and radiator, dual electric fans, finned valve covers, a Holley carburetor, and a polished air cleaner assembly. The engine is said to have been overhauled before installation and sends power to the rear wheels through a Mustang-sourced 5-speed manual transmission. The suspension has been modified with aftermarket coilovers and disc brakes are equipped at all four corners.
This sale will include a valid registration.

Hello @Alexbert
On your video the water temp is very high could you confirm if the car overheat or if it the gauge who is not working good?
Thanks
@AlexBert many thanks, appreciated. TP
@racer355 Absolutely no problem doing that amazing roadtrip back Home.
What a great way to describe BaT these days., “an unpleasant tavern.” A taverns where they have a lot to say, yet, they are all nameless. Tom P.
If I win the auction, my son and I would fly to Montreal and drive it back. Anything needed in your opinion. I get it, it’s vintage and anything can happen if the TVR gods bestow themselves upon you.
I look forward to your response.

Ok I am a total not mechanic or resto anything. I just love this car and have loved TVR for a long time. If I had the knowledge or garage for this it would so be mine. Love the shift knob.
I know its not coming to me but thanks for letting me look at it.
@Dwhite The man ( real genius) who took ( and completed ) that project beautifully left without leaving a trace. So after many attempts: Can’t bring answers to your technical questions.
I suggest You patrol the pictures down below with the magnifying glass, with the assistance of your Expert, and Bid Accordingly if You like What You see. ( Gallery of pictures down below the sponsors ). Car starts instantly. Great sound / exhaust notes. It’s not a 427 cid / LS, just a small 289 any mechanic can Service.
You can improve the whole package if You become Owner. To Your Discretion.
PS: Keep note the 2500M (1975 ) with the V8 Rover 4.0 Manual is Also Available.
Current Owner Spent WAY to much on those cars.
His Losses: Your Gains.
All the Heavy Lifting done.
Rest ( if any ) Walks in the park.
Looks like a cool car, not sure that I am interested. But if I am, I would just bid. These experts/commenters that have to mention where it was advertised sold or not sold, I don't understand. I would like to see valid questions that can help us all. Like for example the one Dwhite is helpful and a valid question.
This car was listed and not sold here as well.
I asked the seller then and will again ask if the chassis has had any additional bracing added to the rear as was done in the original Tuscan V8s.
Additionally, what rearend is in the car? they came with a triumph vitesse/gt6 rear not anything which can take the torque of a V8. Tuscans had Salsbury limited slip, same as an etype Jag.
I'm speaking as a person who owned a 1969 Vixen S2 for 34 years, did a total restoration and put a 2.0 liter SOHC motor in it. I also know a person with an original Tuscan V8 and did the chassis modifications to my car to help strengthen the rear area of the tubular chassis.
Car looks beautiful, but doing things to the next level count too.
@garrege Good Eyes! 😁
100000$ 🇨🇦 Restoration cost.
26750$ 🇺🇸 was too low.
I do not use BaT Anymore.
It became an unpleasant Tavern.

Lucas, "King of the Road"? I thought it was "Prince of Darkness" and "Why the English drink warm beer."
I wonder if an all aluminum 427 cubic inch LS7 engine would fit? :)))
