Got a last minute question that I'd like to share,

"To clarify, you the seller will wrap, pack, and box the letters for shipping. Buyer will pay costs of shipping and insurance. Correct?"

    "Yes, exactly. Thank you,
    George"

I just added a few pictures of other examples of letter placement that I found. I know a couple of members asked how to display them earlier on. So, hopefully this will help with some "inspiration". Check out the pictures.

Good Morning everyone, Happy Manic Monday, and welcome to the last day of our Aluminum Porsche Letters auction. In a few hours this cool and fun memorabilia will be going into the collection of a lucky new enthusiast.

As I mentioned yesterday, I went out to our first local car's & coffee gathering yesterday, and it didn't disappoint. Even though the theme was "Trucks & Wagons" there were certainly plenty of Porsche's, Ferrari's, and many other marques. The weather cooperated, and you could see the joy on everybody's face, members and spectators alike, that "car season" had begun.

So, with these last few hours remaining, I'll summarize and show packaging / shipping details, as well as share some more shots of the set taken over the weekend, as well as some from before.

The box for this set is a 12"x 12"x 12" cube weighing 25 pounds. That should be what folks need to figure out shipping to their location using whatever carrier they like. Our estimate to the far West of the country is under $85-$95, and maybe a little more with full insured value (obviously depending on final bid / cost). So, we're talking about a negligible amount given the dollars we're already at. The set will be carefully wrapped with lots of extra padding in the box. Please see additional pictures showing the wrapped letters and the box with the morning's first picture batch.

@TN911, Thank you for your repeat bids.

@JPD3170, Thank you for your repeat bids, and you're back on top.

@vbasappa, hopefully the above detailed shipping info is useful.

I'll be back a little later with final thoughts, and some last minute pictures. In the meantime, check out this morning's picture batch, and have a great Monday.

Good Morning, Happy Thursday (Friday jr, or Friday eve), and welcome to day #6 of our Lamborghini Parts and Service Dealership sign auction. We’ve rounded the corner, or gone over the “Hump” of the week, and are heading toward the beloved weekend. Thanks to the folks who have viewed, are watching, and have bid on this cool Porsche aluminum letter set.

@SilverFox58, Thank you for your bid, and you're on top.

Now that we’re in the workweek’s home stretch, we're almost at the halfway point of the auction. By early next week, this beautiful piece of Porsche memorabilia will go into the collection of a lucky new enthusiast. So, let’s continue going through our photo album stash with today’s fresh batch of shots. I'm hoping to get together with our owner in the next couple of days to get some additional ones to share. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures and have a great Thursday.

@dino70089 Speaking of rays of sunshine..... And here I thought the paisley Persian rug was a fun background to display the letters. I'll see if I can get together with our owner to take a few more pictures on the hardwood as so pleasantly requested. Didn't want to upset the Mrs by possibly scratching her nice wood floor, but I'll be super careful with the weapon-like Porsche hardware.

  • AutofileClasssics (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

@pete5016 You're very welcome. I have a few more fun shots of the backside up and will work those in as we go to keep things interesting. I'm happy that the already added pics helped out. Still looking for others' display variety for you. Thanks for viewing and your appreciation.

  • AutofileClasssics (seller) 1 week, 2 daysago

@vbasappa Yes sir, working on that for you. It's about 21 pounds just in letters, add in plenty of packaging / padding, and 25 pounds would be a safe bet for shipping weight. Just need to find the right box to keep shipping reasonable; not too big, not too small, just like Goldy Locks, right::--))))) I recently shipped a larger heavier box than what we need here to NYC with a Tool Kit in it that was over 30 pounds and it was about $85. Obviously, insured value is a factor and CA. is a little farther, but that should give you a temporary idea. Thanks again and stay tuned.

Good Morning Everyone, Happy Hump Day, and welcome to another day of our cool Aluminum Porsche Letters set auction. In a couple hours, we’ll be exactly halfway through the workweek, then it’s downhill from there to the weekend.

I knew the sunshine wouldn’t last long as we’re back to gloomy clouds, bursts of snowfall, and gusting winds again today. So glad I made use of the previously mentioned sunny days last week. They’re threatening us with some sunshine as we get closer to the weekend, but I’m not holding my breath.

@vbasappa, Thank you for your bid, and you're on top.

Here’s to the weather forecast being somewhat correct. Until then, here is today’s new batch of fun letter shots to check out. Enjoy the pictures and have a great Wednesday.

  • dino70089 (registered bidder) 1 week, 2 daysago

Can't think of a worse background for displaying these letters. Even placing the letters on the wood floor would be so much better for prospective bidders.

@pete5016 Thanks for the question. Backs of the letters coming up in today's picture batch. Here's what I replied to @vonKarajan below as well,

"There are a variety ways that the letters can be displayed including laid out as shown, on table or desk tops, standing, shelf mounted, wall mounted using hooks or nails, I've also seen folks put them into frames / dioramas / shadow boxes. The possibilities are endless."

I'll also see if I find a few interesting pictures from other posters. Have a great day.

Good Morning everyone, Happy Tuesday, and welcome to day 2 of our Aluminum Porsche letters auction. I hope folks got through their Monday work day without too much hassle. Even though the sun is shining here in Chicagoland, it’s a paltry 34 degrees outside. Hard to believe that it’s April, but it's sure better than a snowstorm, so we’ll take it.

@Avant911, very cool handle, and thanks for getting us started with your opening bid.

Here's today's picture batch which will feature the backs of the letters as requested. Enjoy the pictures and have a great day.

  • pete5016 (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Do you have pictures of the back of the sign? How are the letters intended to be mounted? Thanks.

  • vonKarajan (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Are there holes on the backs of the letters so they can be mounted?

Good Afternoon everyone, Happy (Manic) Monday, Merry April, and welcome to the auction of this great set of Aluminum Porsche Letter set. This is the latest offering out of “The Deerfield collection”, and what a great offering it is.

The local collection that this set is out of happens to be owned by a long time friend who is an admitted Porsche guy. For decades, he’s been finding and collecting some of the rarest Porsche memorabilia you’ve ever seen; signs, plaques, clocks, crests, die cast models, you name it, he’s got it. If you’ve viewed some of my previous auctions of his memorabilia, you know that the rarity and uniqueness of the items is undeniable. The size of the collection is also impressive as it takes up almost as much room as his car collection. And, as with everything else in his collection, this offering is authentic and in excellent original condition.

Sorry if you've also heard this part before; now, with the kids out of the house, and their rooms already filled with some of these collectibles, the realization has set in that he can’t possibly display everything. So, the decision has been made to let some of it go, and here we are.

Over the next 7 days, I’ll be presenting this Porsche letter set. Folks who follow my auctions know that I’ve always got a stash of back up pictures to add in as we go; and this listing is no exception. Obviously, discussing a letter set for 7 days isn’t as exciting as watching driving videos, but I’ll try to keep things as interesting as possible with the discussion as well as the picture adding. I've tried to capture the letters in as many different positions and configurations as I could for everyone’s viewing pleasure.

So, check out the already posted pictures, but get ready for much more to come. Have a great day everyone.
