@KEnzinger When it came time to install the convertible assembly and remove the hardtop, I had my mechanic remove it and he only mentioned he needed an extra hand or 2 since its a large unit. I did not hear any complaint other than the fact that the actual cloth convertible top was a bit dried up and needed alot of stretching to make it fit and close properly. As far as the hardtop goes, it came out without much of a hiccup and I would have to assume the reverse would be similar. Thank you for your interest.

Is it’s a Porsche product it will have a Porsche part number on it somewhere. If you can’t find it, then it’s not a factory hardtop.

@Domrom I am not sure when D. Moris started making tops. This is the first cab that I have ever encountered that came with the hard top and have not seen another one since and I have seen hundreds if not thousands by now. I have had this car for over 10 years and it was on it for years more before my purchase so I cannot say if it was original or a D. Moris or any other manufacturer, just know it fooled a bunch of my aircooled friends at first long glances and they all thought it was a coupe. Thank you for your interest.

Is this OEM or the D. Moris top

@El_Chingon Thank you for passing on the information.

@SilverRose the current setup is the double hook setup and can be adapted to used roller setup for later g-models and 964 cabriolets also. The current setup will work for your M491 cab.

@SilverRose it’s fairly straightforward - look at the latches on your car and see if it’s the early double hook type or the later roller style. Power tops are roller style and manual tops are hook style. Either can be adapted to work with the other.

@seller, what year onward requires rollers? I have an '85 M491 cab.
