Developed as a street-legal racing for FIA Group 4 Sports Car homologation requirements in 1966, the Porsche 906 or Carrera 6 remains one of the brand’s most iconic and successful race cars of the era. This recreation was built between 2020 and 2021 by a Porsche 906 specialist in Southern France. It features a steel tubular spaceframe chassis with green-painted fiberglass bodywork, red bucket seats, plexiglass side windows, independent coil-sprung suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, a side-shift 5-speed manual transaxle, and a modified 2.7-liter Type 911/81 flat-six engine. Purchased by the seller and imported to the U.S. earlier in 2024, this road-registered 906 re-creation is now being offered for auction out of Georgia.
This car wears replica 906 fiberglass bodywork mounted to a tubular steel spaceframe chassis. The frame bears a stamp of serial number 0000RIGIN2198726B, and the car’s prior French registration indicates that the chassis was first put into circulation in 1986 and officially registered in 1999. The body is finished in green and wears dual bullet-style chrome mirrors, lightweight plexiglass side windows, a louvered plexiglass engine cover, a vented quick-release front hood panel, “Carrera 6” front fender decals, rear “PORSCHE” lettering, and silver wheels dressed in 195/60 Mazzini ECO605 tires up front and 215/60 Habilead Comfort Max tires in the rear.
The lightweight racing-style cockpit is equipped with low-back red bucket seats, a black fiberglass dashboard, and a black leather three-spoke steering wheel. Accessories include a polished shift knob, window vents, an electrical system cutoff switch, a quick-release steering wheel hub, and an 8k-rpm tachometer. There is no odometer and the car's total mileage is unknown.
The car is powered by a mid-mounted 2.7-liter Type 911/81 flat-six engine modified by a French Porsche specialist. It features dual triple-throat Weber carburetors with polished intake trumpets, an RS-style lightweight flywheel, and a front-mounted oil cooler. The rear wheels are driven through a reinforced side-shift 5-speed manual transaxle derived from a Porsche 914. The chassis includes four-wheel independent suspension with double wishbones and coil springs, and four-wheel disc brakes with dual master cylinders and a bias adjuster. Service performed under the seller’s ownership between September and October 2024 includes new spark plugs, an oil change, and carburetor tuning by Jack Lewis Enterprises in Atlanta, Georgia. The seller recommends a brake service and wheel alignment be performed by the next owner as the car has not been driven regularly over the past three years.
This sale will include a Georgia registration. A reproduction chassis plate, stamped with serial number 2198726B, is mounted in the front compartment and serves as the car’s identification number on the Georgia registration document, which describes it as a 1966 Porsche 906 Replica.

How do I see my be car?
I’ll be in Atlanta next week and would like to see the car. I’m at. Let me know if you’ll be available.
Are there seat belts in the car. If so, what type? pics?
Offer in the amount of $99,000
I was under. The impression the paint thickness can not be determined on a fiberglass body since there is no metal to reflect the signal to the paint meter.
But I agree with the rest of what was suggested
Leak down test, compression test clutch pedal test to show clutch life left,
This appears to have much of the makings of a legit 906. Clearly the tube-frame and fibreglass appears to be proper. And while this represents an incredible opportunity to have an uber light-weight and streetable 906, it would seem this should sell for MUCH more than the bids would suggest. For future reference I recommend: 1) providing compression test results, 2) providing leak down percentages, 3) provide paint meter readings, and 4) as much information as possible regarding the engine componentry (ie: solid rockers, Carrera tensioners, etc.) With supporting information and a LOT more detail, this car should sell for closer to the $165k owner reserve. just my unsolicited opinion. cheers all. Beautiful car.
Bid in the amount of $77,000

Great looking car none the less. And great build.
Oldjagguy1964. Ah you dont have 16's on the rear. There 15's. And I really wish you would have taken the 4 corner shots on level ground like I requested 4 days and 2 hours ago to show how the car sits and the gaps in the fender wells. But I guess that wasn't a priority. GLWA.
Parkgts,
15" front - 16" rear
No sway bar, non slip, no handbrake.
Strong motor that was gone through 2021-22. Very little driven since. Mainly on display. No track time. Exhaust mufflers, why? Car sounds really great! Vented rotors front and rear.
Bid in the amount of $44,444
Is this the same car that was on a few weeks ago?
There is a regularity FIA passport included in the sale of the car.
Again it would need lap belt or harness installed.
-compression?
-info on motor or do I assume rebuild?
-any track time during ownership?
-is there a -front sway bar?
-is there a limited slip?
-is there an emergency brake?
-have you thought about how a muffler could be installed?
-15 or 16” wheels?
-vented rotors front and rear?
-caliper source?
Thx
The car’s original Weber 46 carburetors are a fantastic feature! It looks like a well-executed 906-inspired build. With attention to a few smaller details, it could edge even closer to an authentic 906 over time. It is definitely a Car with incredible potential for the right owner, and then to get FIA papers on it.
Originally built to meet Group 4 regulations, Porsche constructed at least 50 units to comply with FIA requirements. This made the 906 eligible for both prototypical racing and sports car events
The rear springs appear to be very close to fully binding while static. Perhaps different springs would improve the suspension performance.
Only selling because I have too many toys. To he safe I would replace the tires, a 4 wheel alignment and level the car. (Coilover). Also the driver seat should be adjusted to new driver's height.
Why are you selling? Any sorting to be done or is it road worthy? Thanks, beautiful car!
Could you please provide 4 corner shots of this beauty on flat level ground so it’s stance can be assessed. Your current pictures show the front on dirt and the rear on concrete. None show it on flat level ground. Thanks in advance. 🙂
This 906 is currently registered in the state of Georgia. Sold with a current GA registration in my name, a letter from the state stating "non titled" vehicle on cars built before 1986 and a notarized bill of sale.
