This Porsche 356 Speedster replica was built by Vintage Speedsters of California in 2016, finished in Aquamarine over grey vinyl upholstery. It is powered by a 1,582cc flat-four engine with dual carburetors paired to a 4-speed manual gearbox. Features include 15” steel wheels with chrome hubcaps, front disc brakes, a Nardi steering wheel, a Boss CD stereo, and more. Driven approximately 2,800 kilometers (less than 1,800 miles) since completion, this Speedster recreation is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
The fiberglass body is built on a 1962 Volkswagen chassis and finished in Aquamarine, resembling Porsche's Aquamarine Metallic shade offered on the 356 from 1956 to 1957. Features include a black soft top with matching removable side curtains, body-color bumpers with chrome overriders, chrome trim, and dual side mirrors. Porsche and 1600 Super badging, along with PCA and ADAC decklid emblems, are also fitted. The car rides on chrome-finished 15” steel wheels with Porsche-crested hubcaps and Pirelli P4 Four Season Plus tires. Detailed images are available in the gallery.
Inside, the cabin offers low-back bucket seats upholstered in grey vinyl with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpeting. Driver amenities include a wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel, vintage-style gauges with green markings, an ivory-colored shift knob, and a height-adjustable rearview mirror. Other accessories include three-point seatbelts, a passenger grab handle, door map pockets, a Boss CD stereo, and Coco floor mats.
This Speedster replica is equipped with an air-cooled 1,582cc flat-four engine featuring dual carburetors. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual gearbox with a 3.88:1 ratio. Stopping is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The seller adds that the exhaust system has been tuned. Additionally, an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Wdsrod I might. It truly depends on what is it and how much you want for it. Pm me with details.
Any interest in a partial trade? I have a 1993 Porsche 968.
Yes must be the time of year. One just sold on BAT with a bigger engine for that price.
@Chipper for 35k I’ll let it sit as a piece of art in my garage! 🤣🤣🤣 and while some got lucky to snatch great deals, it’s the time of the year. Should have waited instead of listing mid holidays. It’s all good…. Will enjoy and more miles with smiles!
Offer in the amount of $39,000

@blackfish19 And by brand new I mean it was new when the car was built.
@blackfish19 no history. Came from factory - vintage speedsters. I believe it’s a brand new built motor. I don’t think they recon old engines in their builds.
I have a friend who knows more about 356s than practically anyone on the planet. He says these replicas built by Vintage are the best of the various builders available.
Hello, real Beaut. Any history on the engine? Was it a rebuilt 60's VW?

@Junio1r they are black indeed
@356speedsterTX just curious about the color. They appear to be black.
@bob911 tell me what’s wrong
@Junio1r I’m out of town. And don’t have it in my phone. It’s a 3pt seat belt but I folded them behind the seats for the pictures. Unfortunately I won’t be able to get pictures before the end of auction as I’m out of town. Nothing wrong with them, fully functional and in good order. Just tucked behind the seats for clean pictures.
WHATS WRONG WITH THIS CAR?
Do you have any pics of the seatbelts unfolded?

@Junio1r they are the original tires. With less than 2k miles I didn’t replace them. No cracks and no issues. Being properly stored they are in great shape. Car is 100% original from factory.

@luis.seneriz that’s a 6k upgrade. Plenty of engine builders selling a 2332cc crate engine for that, and up. Then you can sell the current engine. At the end, probably only cost you 3k ish to get it done. I believe it would bring the fair value of the car to over 50k then with such low miles. Even though the 1600cc is fun as is!
Love this. ❤️❤️❤️ Will be fun to watch. Good luck to bidders and seller. 🤩
Love the color. Would love to put a lot bigger engine on it. They don’t make cars like these no more.
