Available for auction is a McLaren advertising sign. The sign measures approximately 8’ feet in length, 20” inches in height and 2” inches in depth. The sign in constructed of lightweight aluminum with acrylic lettering that is raised out from the sign. The background is low sheen white with the McLaren lettering in gloss black and red. The seller states the condition is genuinely excellent with only minor age related marks. The seller notes a few small scratches. 
The first McLaren crest was designed in 1964 by Michael Turner – famous motorsport artist and close friend of Bruce McLaren – for the fledgling Bruce McLaren Motor Racing Team. It centered on a Kiwi, the national symbol of Bruce’s homeland, New Zealand. The more dynamic ‘Speedy Kiwi’ was then introduced in 1967, to emphasize the higher speeds at which Bruce’s cars were racing. It also took on a striking papaya orange color which familiarly became known as “McLaren Orange”. Reflecting the sport’s international growth, the ‘Speedy Kiwi’ disappeared to be replaced by the McLaren International logo which evoked a chequered flag. First appearing in 1997, a revamped logo featured a streamlined speedmark which bared similarities to the vortices created by a rear wing. Enter the mono-black speedmark, symbolizing ‘one’ McLaren. For 2021, the speedmark then turned papaya to distinguish McLaren Racing. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees.
The seller would like you to know: This sign was once displayed at Brands Hatch and was originally issued to promote the brand for track experience days. The sign was previously owned by Virgin (the Richard Branson group) for there McLaren driving packages at the track.

Yes I will be able to package the sign safely using my own materials (no additional cost).
The package will measure approximately 8ft in length and 2ft in width once completed. It will still be manageable for an average individual to lift but it will be on the heavy side. Unfortunately I can not confirm the final weight at the moment.
