Available for auction is a rare 1970s Continental Tires illuminated advertising sign. The seller states the sign was originally displayed in Germany at an authorized Continental stockist before being safely brought to the UK in the early 1990s.
This all-original sign, including the lighting hardware, remains in perfect working condition. Constructed from a robust aluminum housing, it features two thermoformed translucent screen panels, and is mounted on wall with metal flange supports that are still fully functional. The sign's internal illumination is powered by fluorescent lighting (220 volts) and currently wired to a UK plug.
The seller states both panels are in exceptional condition with no cracks, though there are light scratches and slight fading in the upper blue corners on one side, which are barely noticeable when illuminated, as the colors remain rich and vibrant. Measuring nearly 3 feet in length (with flange supports), just under 19” in height, and 7” deep, this piece of history is a perfect addition to any collection, especially for German car enthusiasts.
Continental signage from this period is rare and highly sought after, making this sign a true treasure. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

Hello everyone,
Thank you sincerely for viewing this auction for a rather special sign.
I just wanted to let you know that worldwide shipping is most welcome.
At present the sign has not been packaged as it is currently in secure storage. However, I am fairly confident the cost will not be substantial. FedEx is always the most competitive with regards to price and I would anticipate a cost to the USA being around $250 to $300.
A shipping crate would be best suited for this invaluable piece which can be organised by myself. A crate is around $200 for this size of sign and I am happy to assist with the full shipment process (packaging and booking the courier) and will do all I can to assist.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.
Kind regards
