Available for auction is a toolkit for a Ferrari 288 GTO. The tool kit features a thick vinyl pouch with 15 separate stitched pockets which is secured by the factory correct popper fasteners.
Announced by Enzo Ferrari in September 1983, the Ferrari 288 GTO revamped the famous GTO moniker which stands for Gran Turismo Omologato, harkening back to the glory days of its ancestor, the iconic 250 GTO. The 288 GTO became the Prancing Horse's first supercar, the progenitor for its other iconic supercars, such as the F40, F50, and Enzo.
The kit consists of four screwdrivers; two with ‘Phillips’ cross heads and two with flat heads, both in large and small sizes. The screwdrivers have the correct translucent amber color handles and molded grip shape. There are eight double-ended wrenches, ranging from 6/7 size at the smallest end and 20/22 at the largest. They all present the correct ‘Ferrari’ casting marks on one side, and ‘Chrom Vanadium’ on the other. The 14/15 size wrench has a different marking design, as is correct for a genuine 288 GTO tool roll. Additionally, the kit includes the correct emergency window crank handle tool, a black scripted, red handled Ferrari-branded pliers, and two OEM Champion A59G spark plugs.
The seller states the tool kit has minor patina and has been exceptionally well preserved. Tool kits in this condition are hard to come by and this is a very rare opportunity to acquire a genuine tool roll from the legendary Ferrari 288 GTO. This would make a great acquisition for the a lucky owner –whether to enhance a car’s level of “completeness” for concourse judging or as a valuable spare – as well as an important and intriguing addition for a wider collection of Ferrari automobilia. The buyer is responsible for shipping, shipping insurance, handling, and transactional fees. PCARMARKET is not responsible for anything lost or damaged during shipping.

@Dwhite Thanks, and yes, they are close .
Oops, I see you have it already. Good luck with the tool roll.
This fchat thread showing a correct tool roll for a 288 gto may help to confirm it is genuine. I never said it was not just as they are all so similar, it good to have documentation.

I'm not saying 500 would every biy a 308 or a 512 tool roll. They now range between 1300 to 2800.
@Dwhite
I declined an offer on Collecting Cars for a touch under the current Buy Now price, bidder is on here also.
$500 wouldn't buy any Ferrari toolkit, and if you check the offers on some other things, you'll note they're also
outside the realm of feasibility, so the issue if you want to call it that is something else.
This toolkit came with other 288 GTO stuff which can be discussed with the winner, I didn't want complicate the listing even more.
Check these links with special attention to the A59G spark plugs and other details.
Thanks for the comment and congrats on the cars.

I see a tool kit from several Ferrari models. 308s, BBs ect. I owned both a 308QV and an 84 BB 512i. How can it be proven it's from a 288 GTO, without that documentation I think that is the issue on low bids.
@veloce1964 $14000 would include the toolkit, the new set of mirrors in original boxes, new car cover, new tow hook, and free shipping.
You can make an offer for just the toolkit or everything.
Thanks for the question.
Does this include the mirrors
Thanks for the interest and bids.

Welcome all,
This is a very rare and exceptionally well preserved Ferrari 288 GTO toolkit.
RM Sotheby's recently sold the toolkit and jack kit and owner's manual for €40,800.
Previously RM Sotheby's sold the toolkit and jack kit for €31,200.
BaT had one bundled with other items and it did not meet reserve at $32,880.
The Optional Bonus offers the even rarer opportunity to acquire a time capsule, new old stock set of 288 GTO iconic exterior mirrors still in their original Vitaloni packaging.
Thank you and enjoy the auction
