Introduced for the 1992 model year, the Ferrari 512TR succeeded the original Testarossa, boasting significant upgrades such as a redesigned flat-12 engine, Bosch engine management, and improved intake and exhaust systems. This left-hand-drive European-market model, initially sold by Ineco Auto S.r.I., spent some time in the United Kingdom before arriving in the U.S. approximately one year ago. Equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4.9-liter flat-12 engine, this example showcases a Rosso Corsa finish over Nero Connolly leather and rides on 18” Speedline light alloy wheels. Showing under 30k kilometers (~19k miles) on the odometer, this iconic 512TR is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia accompanied by a Ferrari Classiche red book.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is adorned in the classic Rosso Corsa hue. Compared to its predecessor, notable updates of the 512TR include refined styling enhancements, including a more sculpted front fascia, reshaped side air intake strakes, and a redesigned rear bumper, all aimed at enhancing aerodynamics. Additional details include a revised engine lid, body-colored lower sills, redesigned 18” 5-spoke light alloy wheels, and a slightly lowered stance. This example’s Speedline wheels wear Carallino Reampante center caps and a set of Toyo Proxes T1R tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the Nero Connolly leather cabin features a gated 5-speed manual shifter and heavily bolstered leather seats with embossed Ferrari logos on the upper backrests. Over the earlier Testarossa, the 512TR also received several interior updates including a center console separate from the dashboard and a redesigned steering wheel. Other details include Ferrari-branded door sill plates, a cassette stereo and tape storage, climate controls, a rear defroster, power windows, and a 3-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. Of note, European-market cars did not come with motorized seatbelts.

The 512TR carries an updated version of the naturally aspirated flat-12 from the original Testarossa. The 12-cylinder boxer engine received a series of upgrades, including a chassis lowering to improve the car's center of gravity, resulting in enhanced road-holding and reduced roll axis. Power saw an increase of 37 HP, alongside a further augmentation of the engine's already ample torque. This 4.9L engine is capable is sending a total of 422 HP to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Among the many technical improvements over the original Testarossa, the 512TR also features larger front brake rotors and revised suspension settings. The seller adds that the most recent timing belt service was performed approximately five years ago.

This sale will include a clean title, a Ferrari Classiche red book, luggage, a toolkit, spare parts, and service records.
