Available for auction is a New Old Stock original and genuine, late 1980s Ferrari dealership illuminated sign. Known among collectors as the "Cash Desk," this sign measures 25" x 25" x 5 1/2". It is arguably the most fun and rare Ferrari automobilia sign. Ferrari retailers and authorized service agents were provided with five different signs in the 1980s. These signs would have been displayed at the Ferrari service reception area, letting you know where to settle your accounts.

The sign is unused, in perfect working order, and amazingly still in its original box and original crate. The seller states the sign has only been removed from its original box on three known occasions over the past thirty years and only twice completely out of its packaging and plugged in to show it fully illuminated and in all its glory. The sign originated from a European Ferrari dealership parts department where it had been stored for twenty years.

The sign was manufactured by Neon Modena and is of metal construction with a removable perspex front plate and uses a circular-shaped fluorescent tube to illuminate. The box comes with the Ferrari part number tag still intact. This item was never meant to be in the hands of the general public and was certainly never offered for sale through official means. It was only when the dealership was moving premises that it was re-discovered and subsequently sold at their discretion to the seller's Father, a loyal and longtime patron.

Don't miss your opportunity to own one of the rarest forms of Ferrari signage. The buyer is responsible for shipping, handling, and fees.

@dino70089 Thank you so much for your offer a few weeks ago. I can not apologize enough for the delay in my response and I believe PCarmarket was in touch. I am sincerely sorry we could not come to a agreement but I do sincerely appreciate the offer and the interest you have shown.

I also wish to thank the person from the unknown location for the offer made yesterday and for the interest you have shown also.

    Kind regards

@HiRevJunkie Hello again and thank you for the question.

The book in the photographs is available and I would certainly be happy to include copies of the book to go along with the sign.

The book is special and was never available to purchase free-trade. The fact that this is now in private hands makes it considerably valuable. I would not know how to replace it.

However, to have the book and the sign is the ultimate assurance of provenance.

If it were to be included it would most certainly secure the value of the item as it not only acts as an insurance policy in a way, but it reassures any future owner of its authenticity. If the new owner ever decided the time had come to move it on again, then this booklet would act in the same way and the scenario would be repeated.

Not only would you own the rarest sign of the five illuminated signs in this format that were produced by Ferrari, you would literally also possess a virtually unobtainable, highly desirable and fully verifiable piece of history confirming its authenticity.

In a way, it is like having an autograph of possibly the greatest racing driver of all time, Mr Michael Schumacher. The photograph and the signature may look authentic and genuine enough, but to then have an additional photograph of you standing next to the legend himself while he was signing the photograph that you gave him - that would be much more valuable.

One thing is for certain in my mind, and hat is this sign is worth the price I am asking. Genuine Ferrari signage is an enjoyable investment that not only gets appreciated by the owner, but over time appreciates in value which has historically been the case. The golden era of motor cars (and the related artifacts that go along with them and the brands) are reaching new heights every year. This is evidenced right here on the PCarmarket website.
They have world wide followings on a scale that even some people will pay over the odds for a counterfeit. There are even Pontiac Fiero's and Toyota MR2's that owners have tried to use as a format to replicate an actual Ferrari - and people pay premiums for them! People love the brand, young and old, men and women.

As much as my family would appreciate the sign selling and going to a new home wherever that may be and to be cherished and enjoyed; I am equally content and willing to wait. I have more signage than I know what to do with, but a Ferrari sign of this nature and this rare, I have only one.

    Kind regards

Hello. In one of the photos, there is a page of the other signs at Ferrari dealership. Is that book included?

    Thank you.

@HiRevJunkie Hello again, it is exactly the same - $240.82.

I am genuinely surprised but it is exactly what UPS are quoting. My last parcel was just over 100cm and that impacts the price significantly. The crate is under this size and I do believe that is why it is so competitive.

I hope this helps a little.

    Kind regards

  • vo152 (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@HiRevJunkie Thank you, please give me a few moments and I will check that right now for you.

  • HiRevJunkie (registered bidder) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@vo152 78641 would be a more accurate postal code.

  • vo152 (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@HiRevJunkie Yes indeed. I had to double check myself as I was quit shocked.

I used the zip code 78741 after carrying out a search for local business and that is what the UPS website has quoted.

If you would like me to specifically check another zip code then I would be more than happy to do so. Alternatively, if you would like to send me a direct message with your details (as to not disclose them to the public) then I am more than willing to confirm this for you.

    Kind regards

Thank you. Confirming this cost is to Austin, Texas?

  • vo152 (seller) 1 year, 10 monthsago

@HiRevJunkie Good evening, thank you for your patience regarding the shipping cost.

I now have the exact figures for the shipping with UPS, which has pleasantly surprised me I must admit. To ship the crate fully insured with UPS for the express 4 day delivery is $240.82.

I originally estimated $400 based on a previous experience with a similar yet slightly larger item.

If I can help with anything else please just let me know.

    Kind regards

@HiRevJunkie Good morning and thank you for getting in touch. I am just at work at the moment but I will take measurements of the crate/box later today and I will obtain an exact quote for you.

    Kind regards

@Smallcars Hello CP, and thank you for the message.

I will happily and safely package the sign back into its original crate, book the shipment with UPS online and physically deliver the sign to the UPS depot.

All I would ask is for yourself to pay the amount required for the shipping.

I hope I have interpreted your question correctly, but please do get in touch if I have not.

    Best regards
