Launched in 2022, the seventh-generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster (R232) is marketed exclusively under the Mercedes-AMG brand and is the first of its kind to offer the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system. This 2023 example is an SL 55 4MATC+ model equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 469 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque. It comes finished in Cirrus Silver Metallic over a Red Pepper and Black leather interior including Multicontour Seats with a massage function, an AMG Performance steering wheel, a head-up display, and a Manufaktur black microfiber headliner. It is also equipped with red brake calipers, 21” AMG multi-spoke wheels, the Driver Assistance Package, AMG Carbon Fiber Trim, and Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System. This Mercedes-AMG SL 55 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee while showing approximately 1,500 miles on the odometer.
The latest SL-Class roadster was entirely redesigned and features a new electrically operated convertible soft top which saves weight and improves handling compared to the prior generation's heavier folding hardtop. This 2023 example is finished in Cirrus Silver Metallic and rides on 21” AMG Multi-Spoke Y-Design wheels complemented by optional red brake calipers. The 2+2 interior is appointed with Red Pepper and Black leather upholstery accented by AMG carbon fiber trim and a Manufaktur black microfiber headliner. Equipment includes AMG Performance Multicontour seats with massage, an AMG Performance steering wheel, a head-up display, and a Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System. The optional Driver Assistance Package also includes Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC cruise control, active steering and emergency stop assist, active blind spot assist, active lane keeping and lane change assist, active brake assist with cross-traffic function, route-based speed adaptation, and active speed limit assist with evasive steering assist.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter M177 V8 engine rated at 469 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque. A Mercedes-AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed transmission sends power through Mercedes’ 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system including rear-axle steering. The initial pre-delivery inspection was completed at a Mercedes-Benz dealer in May 2023 and the balance of the factory warranty remains in effect.

@drcollie, For clarity, the 22’ launch edition cars were the ones known to have issues. The 23’s have proven to be reliable. This car is a 23’, although it doesn’t have many miles, it hasn’t required a service visit either.

@jallgood1225 I looked very hard at buying one of these new, however they are plagued with battery issues, most requiring a tender when the car is not being driven. Many owners are getting out of them preferring not to deal with the service issues.

Having owned and enjoyed 5 different SL models from 1976, i absolutely recommend the model as a reliable supercar/daily driver.nthe new styling is awesome. I would bid if they had not eliminated the hardtop convertible. That aside, i will be watching. Btw hip surgery is not horrible, and recovery is not horrible. Good luck

@jallgood1225, Thank you for your comment. Yes, this car is great looking!!! It was a special order car for the original owner. It is in absolutely new condition. All original paperwork, keys, etc… are included with the sale. Unfortunately, he recently found out he’s having hip replacement surgery. For this reason, he chose to sell his car.
