Up for auction is this 2017 Porsche 991.2 Targa 4 GTS presented in Carmine Red over a two-tone black and Luxor beige leather interior. As Porsche’s top-of-the line Targa model, the GTS showcases standard equipped exclusive features including the Sport Chrono Package, a retuned suspension and a more powerful 450 HP twin turbocharged flat-six engine. This 1-owner 2017 example showcases additional factory options including Power Steering Plus, Premium Package Plus and rear axle steering. Reported to be in like-new condition with full ceramic coating and paint protection film applied over the entire front end, this Targa GTS is now being offered for auction by its seller in Connecticut with approximately 7k miles shown on the odometer.
The lustrous Carmine Red finish remains like-new with a full treatment of ceramic coating and paint protection film applied over the entire front end including the fenders, mirrors, bumper, hood and rockers (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). In keeping with traditional Targa design, this GTS features a distinctive black Targa band as well as a wraparound glass rear window. Factory 20” center lock wheels are retained which are finished in black and dressed in Pirelli P Zero tires. The rear tires are new and the seller indicates the front tires to be original although with plenty of tread life remaining.
Inside, the two-tone black and Luxor Beige leather upholstered cabin is said to remain as new. Accompanied by an original window sticker totaling over $163k, this GTS highlights the following factory options:
This 991.2 features a twin turbocharged 3.0 L flat-six engine which sends 450 HP to all four wheels by way of a 7-speed dual clutch PDK transmission allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 3.7 seconds. The optional rear axle steering and Power Steering Plus features provide for an improved handling feel and effortless maneuverability at any speed. This Targa is said to be in exemplary driving condition and up to date on all due maintenance with a routine service performed very recently.
The sale of this Targa will include a set of two keys, books, service records and the original window sticker. Offered in superb condition while highlighting desirable factory options, this GTS represents an incredible value.

@Mikeweiss Hello. Perhaps you’re unfamiliar with the site. If a car did not meet reserve they are placed in the DealTank section of the site where bidders as well as other interested parties are more than welcome to place an offer for the seller to consider. This is what happened in this case. Hopefully this provides some clarity and helps you in the future. If you have any other questions feel free to submit a ticket to our helpdesk by clicking contact us. Thank you.
So how does somebody buy this car after the auction is and over for more then the final bid amount. Is there a second set of bidding going on? Pcarmarket what is your policy? Nothing on line states you can bid after the bidding period is over and cherry pick an amount 2k more (in this example). How fare is that for the poor saps bidding?
Sold for $118,000
Offer in the amount of $118,000
Thank you PCARMARKET
Bid in the amount of $116,000
@Mercyhealth vehicle was never smoked in as per the seller. has the smoker package so he could plug in his radar.
Bid in the amount of $114,000
Bid in the amount of $112,000
Just searching for another data point. On the only 11 interior photos I see the lighter is missing in each shot. Is it missing and is the owner a smoker?
Bid in the amount of $110,000
Bid in the amount of $108,000
Bid in the amount of $106,000
@ainsworth88 Hello. We just took a phone call with the seller and explained that you were in CA. He said that should you win, he is happy to take the car to the Porsche dealer (at your expense) to have the condition verified. He also added that although he doesn't have the receipts handy, that approx 2 oil changes were performed at the dealer as well as a water pump replacement under warranty.
Hope this helps and best of luck bidding.
Bid in the amount of $105,000
Bid in the amount of $103,000
I can see each perspective. Seem like they are not savvy sellers and it maybe just worth a call to Dealer. Seems like great car and I’m sure most sellers would be ok with PPI on a nearly new car . Anyway, someone’s gonna get a really nice car.
Bid in the amount of $102,000
@Boatdoc74 Myhealth is totally correct. I asked for information on warranty and service records twice. Owners should have this info. No matter how "nice" the car or owners are, it is still 3+ years old and service (especially oil change) is important. Only verified service on the Carfax is a tire change. Also I requested a PPI, which again is part of the due diligence, and received no answer. If you wish to take the risk, be my guest but don't see you bidding.
@Boatdoc74 not at all. I have no power on who sees the car or hiding it on the internet. If you know how to do that please let us all know. Just trying to get information about a beautiful vehicle that I can’t see inspect or touch. No disrespect to the seller or PCARMARKET I’m just in search of data points that will help me decide on bidding higher. That’s all and being told to speak to a Porsche dealership for information I think is pointless. I’m done now with this excellent (I think) example of a 911. Good luck to both b&s
Bid in the amount of $101,000
@Mercyhealth If I didn’t know better it seems as if you are trying to keep other bidders away on a car that you clearly want to own. The car has 7k miles for crying out loud. The sellers seem like a lovely couple people who are forthright and certainly the kind of people who you’d want to buy a car from. You can’t ask PCAR to force sellers to answer questions your way, they are being responsive.
Bid in the amount of $99,000
@PCARMARKET just help your sellers through the process. When considering spending 6 plus figures it’s vital (regardless of the cars age ) that bidders request be dealt with. Please see all below for examples.
@Mercyhealth Hello. Happy to help where we can. The carfax has a service entry and the seller provided the information on the dealer that performed the work. Please bear in mind this is a very low mileage and relatively newer vehicle. What information are you looking for specifically?
@Mercyhealth Thank you for your input. This is my husband's car and he doesn't use a computer. I don't think he understood how the auction worked.
Bid in the amount of $97,225
Bid in the amount of $95,000
Bid in the amount of $85,000
Bid in the amount of $80,000
Bid in the amount of $75,000
Hey PCARMARKET why don’t you help this seller out. He is selling a beautiful 911 and would do so much better on the bidding with a little help. Nonetheless he needs to respond to the bidders requests we are now less than 24 hours out. Finally if he doesn’t know that and you are watching you’re not helping.
Bid in the amount of $72,500
@BarrettErtelt By the way, I am a longtime PCA member, have owned 6 Porsches and just sold a fully restored concours quality 1970 911E Targa.
@ainsworth88 This is my husband's car and I am handling the emails. As soon as he is home from work I will ask him your question since I don't know the answer other than to refer you to the dealer. Thank you.
@BarrettErtelt I totally agree with Mercyhealth that a potential buyer should not have to do the leg work to determine the value of this car. No disrespect but based upon your lack of input, I wonder if you really want the car to sell. The information that I requested should be readily available.
@BarrettErtelt the reason you are getting all of the warranty questions is because of photo 28. This along with very few pictures and documentation that is required when trying to sell a car at this level online. At one day out you are no where near your reserve I’m sure as you have already stated you’re looking for the sale price. The biggest payday for theses used Porsches come with LOTS of pictures and prompt accurate answers to the bidders requests.
@ainsworth88 You are welcome to call Porsche of Wallingford to discuss any maintenance since they are the only ones that have done it.
@BarrettErtelt Can you please confirm when warranty expires. Can you also add pics of the service invoices from Wallingford Porsche? Will you accept a PPI before purchase is finalized?
Bid in the amount of $70,000
@ainsworth88 There isn't an extended warranty. All maintenance has been done annually at Porsche of Wallingford, CT.
Does the warranty expire 6/21 or do you have extended warranty? Was annual maintenance completed in 2018? Do not note anything on the Carfax.
@AndyL215 Selling because I am buying a 2021 Corvette. I also have a BMW M5 Competition so I'm selling the Porsche.
@Caymanorcarrera It's very nice and classy for an awesome car!
LOVE the old school ceramic PCA badge (-:
Bid in the amount of $65,000
I believe there was an increased power package offered this year. Does your car have it ? Why are you selling ?
Bid in the amount of $60,000
Bid in the amount of $50,000
@Mercyhealth The clear bra is a nationwide recognized warranty
The wheel and tire warranty is transferable to the next owner for another 2 years.
Paint sealant interior and exterior is warrantied by Porsche of Wallingford, CT where the car was purchased for the remaining 2 years.
@BarrettErtelt I see but I’m interested in if the maintenance warranties are transferable? Nonetheless a stunning targa
@Mercyhealth It is a beautiful car and has only 7,000 miles. I am looking for the selling price. Thank you.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
Seller please confirm that the prepaid maintenance is transferable. Thanks beautiful car.
@gppatterson yes that's the day of service when I purchased the car
Please confirm 6/17 is the vehicle in-service date for warranty purposes. Thanks.
Thank you for your comment. It is a gorgeous car!
1. No issues and in perfect condition--only 7,000 miles

3. Car is in perfect condition and has been serviced by Porsche of Wallingford, CT--please feel free to call them

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
Beautiful car, couple of questions:
1. Any issues with the top operationally or the rear window (chips, cracks...etc).
2. Any rock chips or scratches to speak of? Can't really see the front of the car up close.
3. Can you post a dry start video.
4. Anything aftermarket on the car?
Thanks!
