Up for auction is this 2016 Porsche 981 Cayman GT4 finished in White over a black leather and Alcantara interior with stitching in Platinum Grey. The original high-performance track-focused Cayman, the 981 GT4 was introduced for 2016 featuring aggressive aerodynamics and a 3.8L flat-six engine driving the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Sold new in Colorado at an original sticker price over $94k, this launch-year example comes with exclusive seatbelts in Silver Grey as well as wheels painted in Satin Black, the Sport Chrono Package, Bi-Xenon headlights, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). Showing just over 7,500 miles on the odometer, this GT4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
This GT4 was ordered in White along with optional Bi-Xenon headlights in Black, wing supports in Black, and 20” GT4 wheels painted in Satin Black with Michelin Pilot Sport tires. To the best of the seller’s knowledge, the vehicle has not seen track use and the finish is described to have been well-kept with only a few very small stone chips.
The driver is situated in a black leather and Alcantara interior with Platinum Grey stitching, brushed aluminum trim, exclusive Silver Grey safety belts, and manually adjustable seats with Alcantara inserts. A radar detector system has been installed and a complete list of factory options is provided below:
The original GT4 was equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine derived from the Carrera S. As much as 385 HP and 309 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Sport Chrono Package is equipped while standard performance features include a limited-slip differential and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) as well as a lowered PASM suspension with GT3-derived dampers. All known maintenance history is shown on the CARFAX report including a brake fluid flush in 2021 at 4,274 miles and the most recent maintenance inspection in December of 2021 at just under 6k miles.
This sale will include a set of two keys, owner's manuals, and a clean title.

I scanned my Sons 2016 GT4 and to my surprise it read as a 718 GT4. I think since this car has a 991 engine, reading it as a 991 is a non-event.
@jimdemar ..... It is for this car , I didnt understand that either but I have the email where it was done , plus the shop that did the report is posted and you are welcome to call
Sweet car! However, I’m confused by the DME report. It shows the model number as 991. We all understand that the 2016 GT4 is a 981. Is this the proper DME report for this car? Sorry if I missed this discussion in previous comments. Thanks, jimdemar

@Lambogas thanks for follow up.
@DHGT4 We just spoke with our local Porsche dealership in reference to the gearbox question. Per the dealership this car has the factory gearbox and per their records it has not ever had a problem or a issue. He told not all the GT4's had problems.
@DHGT4 ...... I am trying to get an answer for you
No reference to gear box recall being completed in the car fax. Any idea if this car was part of the 3rd gear transmission issue and if it was has the gear box been replaced?
@Lambogas Thanks, Great report!
DME report is in the photos
@Sailvi767 ..... The DME has been sent to PCar
@Sailvi767 .... I will have a DME report today
You’d think Porsche motors were made out of glass if you weren’t familiar with Porsches and DMEs.
@Sailvi767 I was the third owner on one that had less than 100 miles on it and I drove it for more than 10,000 miles! Bought above retail of course, two people made profit before I got it. But they didn’t have the pleasure of driving it!
Just following
I am interested in the car but with 3 owners over 6 years I would be a lot more comfortable bidding on the car if a current DME report were posted.
Bid in the amount of $82,016
Bid in the amount of $20,000
This would look great next to my 981 Spyder in white I bought here a few months ago!
