This final-year Porsche 981 is a Cayman GTS model finished in Guards Red over a Black leather and Alcantara interior with Carmine Red accents. It comes well-optioned from the factory with a 6-speed manual transmission, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB), Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, Premium Package Plus, Infotainment Package with BOSE Surround Sound, illuminated stainless-steel door sills, and Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+). Showing under 10k miles on the odometer, this Cayman GTS is now being offered for auction out of Ohio.
Compared to a standard 981 Cayman S, the GTS model features more aggressive front and rear fascia, black headlamp housings, smoked taillights, and black dual exhaust tips. This example is finished in Guards Red with yellow ceramic brake calipers mounted behind 20” Carrera S wheels in Satin Black. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+), side air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a rear diffuser, and GTS model designations on the doors. The seller notes a layer of clear paint protection film preserves the full front end. The Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires show 2019 date codes and 8/32” tread depth. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this 981 features Black leather and Alcantara upholstery with the GTS Interior Package in Carmine Red. Amenities include heated 18-way Adaptive Sport Seats Plus, auto-dimming mirrors, ParkAssist with a reversing camera, illuminated door sill guards in stainless steel, Carmine Red instrument dials, a fire extinguisher, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, the Light Design Package, Bose Surround Sound, Porsche Communication Management (PCM), with navigation.
Producing up to 330 HP, the naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) limited-slip differential. Optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are equipped, and the GTS model comes standard with the Sport Chrono Package, Sport Exhaust, and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM). A preemptive 40k-mile service was completed in 2021 and service in November 2024 included new spark plugs, a new serpentine belt, and a brake fluid flush. Routine oil and filter changes have also been kept up to date.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a tire inflator, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Unicorn Manual 981 Cayman GTS in Classic Guards Red, Black Leather/Alcantara Interior, Massive $103k MSRP, Ceramic Brakes, Torque Vectoring. Just 9k Miles! Much rarer than a GT4 and a better street car in my opinion. What an awesome sports car this is! Every time I drive it, I can’t stop grinning! Porsche got it SO right with the 981 Cayman GTS. The 6 Cylinder 3.4 liter 335 HP Flat 6 DFI 9A1 Engine has a magical exhaust note under acceleration in Sport Chrono Plus Mode, with the PSE (Porsche Sport Exhaust) engaged. Married to the silky smooth 6-Speed Gearbox which makes it so engaging to drive. The mid-engine configuration provides go-kart-like handling enhanced by the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) Point, shoot at the horizon and just keep going!”

This is a super rare 3 pedal car with low miles. I agree with seller the exhaust note is incredible. Buyer will not be disappointed.

@ZFell No paint imperfections to speak of, it's in immaculate condition and I'm very critical. However, it's not a new car. I don't have any information on the age of the PPF but it's in very good condition with only minimal wear.
Any paint imperfections? When was PPF installed?

@dwagner275 Thank you for your interest. There are no mechanical or cosmetic signs the car has been tracked in my opinion.
Awesome cars, under appreciated. Drove mine 8 years with zero issues. Only sold mine as a 4RS on the way. Buyer will love this car!

I have a 2015 Cayman GTS - for some reason, this generation just sings to me. Great sound from the sport exhaust, just the right amount of HP, and the manual transmission is sublime. And the handling dynamics. In terms of driving dynamics and enjoyment, this is one of the best cars out there. Plus you can treat it like a car, and not an investment (sorry GT4 RS owners). GLWTA!
I had a great drive in the GTS on Saturday afternoon to film the in-car video posted above. The more I drive this car the more I'm impressed with its abilities and how it communicates the best of the Porsche Sports Car Experience of its time. I've also driven and sold several manual 718 GTS 4.0 Cayman's and although they are an awesome example of the next generation, I always come back to this car for its visceral connectedness.
@Chuck121370 Thanks for your interest. There is a picture of one of the date codes in the gallery date 11/19. The fronts are both 11/19, rears are 18/19. All tires are at least 8/32nds, so they have minimal wear/mileage on them. Based on the mileage at the time, wear now and what was going on with high performance production and availability during covid, I would estimate they were mounted on the car sometime in 2021/2022.
Beautiful 981 GTS! Can you share the date codes on the tires please.

@Massbill Thanks for your interest. If you review the Carfax Report attached above, you'll see that the vehicle was serviced in 2017 & 2018, I don't have receipts for those. Regarding engine photos, there is no access to the top side of the engine without removing multiple interior panels since this is a mid-engine car. Everything from a servicing standpoint is completed from underneath. I'll try and get a driving video completed during the auction if the weather is clement.
This is a beautiful car! I always liked the cayman more than the 911. A couple of questions. Was the first oil change 4 years after delivery? Maybe I’m not seeing the receipts correctly. I also think engine photos and a drive video are essential, but the photos you presented are great. GLWTA
Thank you for taking the time to view my auction for this amazing Porsche Cayman GTS. I'll be monitoring the auction closely to answer any question for prospective bidders. Please note that the higher Paint Meter Readings (11/12 mil) in the picture gallery represent panels on the car at the front that have Paint Protection Film applied to them.
