A special version of the final-year Porsche 981 Cayman, the 2016 Black Edition sports a monochromatic theme and comes with 20” Carrera Classic wheels, special accessories, and a host of premium features as standard equipment. This example sports a 7-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission and has been upgraded with a Fabspeed exhaust system as well as H&R lowering springs. Acquired from Porsche of Fairfield in May of 2021, this Cayman Black Edition is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of New York showing just under 11k miles on the odometer.
This 981 Cayman comes finished in nonmetallic Black and is equipped with dynamic bi-xenon headlamps as well as 20” Carrera Classic wheels as standard on the Black Edition. The seller states a paint correction was carried out prior to the installation of Xpel clear protection film over the nose and an application of ceramic coating to the full exterior. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this Cayman features a black interior adorned with Black Edition logos on the door sills and Porsche crests embossed into the headrests. The Black Edition comes standard with an upgraded audio system, front and rear ParkAssist, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and a SportDesign steering wheel. This example is also optioned with seat ventilation, a SiriusXM satellite radio receiver, and instrument dials in White.
A mid-mounted 2.7-liter flat-six engine sends up to 275 HP and 213 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an optional 7-speed PDK transmission. This Cayman has been upgraded with an aftermarket Fabspeed exhaust system and lowered on H&R Sport springs. The CARFAX report shows maintenance performed at Porsche of Fairfield including routine oil and fluid changes, a preemptive 40k-mile service in 2020, and the most recent standard service in June of 2021.
