The top-range model of the third-generation (R172) Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class, the SLK55 AMG features a 415-horsepower 5.5-liter V8 engine, a 7-speed AMG Speedshift automatic transmission, sport-tuned suspension, torque-vectoring brakes, 18” AMG wheels, and an aerodynamic exterior package. This 2016 example is finished in Black over a matching leather interior and equipped with bi-xenon headlights, Airscarf ventilated headrests, heated power AMG sport seats with memory, Keyless-Go entry, aluminum interior trim, a Harman/Kardon sound system, and panorama convertible hardtop. Cared for by only one owner from new, this rare SLK55 AMG is now being offered for auction out of Texas with approximately 11k miles showing on the odometer.
The SLK55 AMG is distinguished from other R172 models by its AMG-specific front spoiler, side skirts, and rear decklid spoiler. This example is finished in Black and equipped with bi-xenon headlights, rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming mirrors, a retractable panorama hardtop, aluminum-trimmed roll bars, polished quad exhaust tips, silver AMG-branded brake calipers, and 18” AMG 5-spoke wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black leather interior features an AMG Sport steering wheel with shift paddles, AMG-branded door sills and floor mats, an AMG instrument cluster, aluminum trim accents, and heated power AMG sport seats with memory. Other accessories include Airscarf ventilated headrests, automatic climate control, cruise control, Keyless-Go entry, an infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity, and a Harman/Kardon LOGIC7 surround sound system.
Rated at 415 HP and 398 lb.-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated 5.5-liter AMG V8 engine drives the rear wheels through a 7-speed AMG Speedshift Plus automatic transmission. Performance features include a sport-tuned suspension, variable-assist hydraulic steering gear, and cross-drilled disc brakes with a rear torque vectoring function. The seller indicates the last routine service was performed in October 2024 and there are no outstanding maintenance items.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Very well maintained, adult owned, and rare AMG that is bone stock.”

The R172 SLK55’s are amazing! We have one in the German car stable along with a 911SC track car, an everyday Boxster, what we believe is the last C300 sedan with a 6 spd manual in the country, and a track prepped 981 GT4. Each wonderful in their own way, but the AMG is absolutely the last of a breed: German hand built V8, normally aspirated beast in a lightweight platform. Put that top down, turn on the air scarf, turn off the radio, hit the sport button and hear the true music this machine makes! I’d buy this one but I’m supposed to be skinnying up the folio and I can’t part with anything I still have lol. The listed example is a gem, so whoever wins this will indeed be getting a wonderful and rare bird. In five and a half years of ownership, I’ve yet to see another one live anywhere in the country. GLWA, shiny side up!
The SLK55 does not have a backup camera.
Does it have a backup camera?
