In the 1980s, Carroll Shelby authorized the reproduction of his legendary Cobra model by several manufacturers with authentic CSX chassis numbers stamped on them. The example offered here is an official Shelby Cobra 427 CSX4000 continuation car that was built by Shelby American, Inc. in 2015. It is one of the fifty 50th Anniversary cars produced in total and is reportedly one of only ten with optional polished aluminum bodywork. It also features a powder-coated tubular frame, four-wheel independent suspension, Wilwood disc brakes, Halibrand-style wheels, limited-edition badging, leather bucket seats, and a 427ci Big Block V8 sending up to 550 HP to the rear wheels through a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. It was purchased new by the current owner directly from Shelby American and is now being offered for auction out of Monaco with approximately 100 miles showing on the odometer.

This Shelby Cobra features optional polished aluminum bodywork with contrasting racing stripes, a Le Mans-style fuel cap, chrome quick jack bumpers, side pipes, wind wings, a chrome roll hoop, and special 50th Anniversary badges. It rides on 15” Halibrand-style wheels with knock-off spinners and yellow-lettered Goodyear Eagle tires. The seller describes the exterior to be in like-new condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery.

The cabin is lined with black carpeting and features a pair of black leather bucket seats, a Stroud driver’s safety harness, a wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, 50th Anniversary edition floor mats, drilled aluminum pedals, a heater/defroster, door map pockets, sun visors, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and Carroll Shelby signature gauges.

Up to 550 HP is sent to the rear wheels from a carbureted Shelby FE 427ci Big Block V8 paired with a Tremec TKO600 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The chassis includes a four-wheel independent suspension with dual A-arms and coil-over shocks, rack and pinion steering, and four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes. The seller indicates one routine service has been completed and the corresponding invoice is provided in the gallery.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a car cover, a battery charger, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “One of ten factory cars finished in polished aluminum, spec'd with the big block engine.”

Hello, would you please provide the following information: (i) casting numbers on the block and heads, (ii) carburetor manufacturer and type, and (iii) any paperwork detailing the engine build. Thank you

  • FForty (seller) 10 months, 1 weekago

The date on the title is 01.01.1965 for homologation reasons in Europe. Yes we will try to locate a copy of the MSO. By all means we can assist in the shipping to the US. It is very straightforward.

  • RoMoCo1 (registered bidder) 10 months, 1 weekago

Very nice aluminum-bodied CSX4000 series Cobra. What make and year is reflected on the title, or is the car still on the MSO? If so, can you display a copy? Do you have any information on shipping the car to the US? Thanks.
