Produced from 2014 to 2018, the BMW M235i Racing was offered as a complete factory race car featuring wide fender flares, spoilers, large disc brakes, KW V3 dampers, a full roll cage, a mechanical limited-slip differential, an 8-speed automatic transmission, and a modified version of the turbocharged N55 engine producing 333 HP. Originally created by BMW Motorsport for amateur track-day enthusiasts, the M235i Racing saw competition at the VLN Endurance Championship at the Nürburgring and was also sold to customer teams in other championships such as the Pirelli World Challenge, 24H Series, and Touring Car Endurance Series. Purchased by the second and current owner from professional race car driver Jeff Segal in 2021, this M235i Racing is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey.
The M235i Racing is distinguished by its widebody fender flares that accommodate 18”x10” BBS Motorsport wheels in gloss black. The lightweight bodywork is finished in white with tri-color BMW Motorsport stripes and includes front splitters, side skirts, and a fixed rear wing. Other accessories include hood latches, black grilles, tow straps, an exposed fuel cap, carbon fiber mirror caps, dual exhaust outlets, and blue brake calipers. The car rides on Hoosier R7 tires and an extra set of four factory BBS wheels is included.
The lightweight racing interior features carbon fiber door panels, a painted roll cage, and a pair of OMP racing bucket seats with safety harnesses. Other accessories include a carbon fiber center console and driver’s footwell, a Schroth window net, an Alcantara-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with an integrated digital display, an AIM data logger, a camera mount, and a Cool Suit system. The seller notes the driver’s safety harness expires in 2026, and the passenger’s harness expired in 2023.
The M235i Racing is powered by a turbocharged 3.0-liter N55 inline-six engine featuring specialized BMW Motorsport software and a racing exhaust. It delivers up to 333 HP and 332 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The suspension includes KW V3 dampers with H&R springs, adjustable H&R sway bars, and carbon fiber and aluminum front strut tower braces. Stopping power comes from Performance Friction four-piston calipers with 370mm rotors in front and BMW M4 two-piston calipers with 345mm rotors out back. The seller indicates the car has been professionally maintained over the past two years and the steering angle sensor was replaced.
This M235i is offered with a bill of sale, an owner’s manual, a BMW diagnostic laptop, and an extra set of wheels.
The seller would like you to know: “Car has been a blast to drive and super reliable, next owner won't be disappointed!”

@Bimmeracer I'd be interested to know the best place to get the control arms and the tune:)
Sold for $60,000
$60,000 offer from unknown location
Bid in the amount of $53,000
@ajspeaker , car was maintained by Bodymotion in NJ but the records are not with the car. Most likely they would share with new owner or could be sourced but have not been.
Bid in the amount of $52,235
Thank you Bimmeracer for the 411 :)
I just checked the rear suspension and it still retains its original stamped steel control arms. It's does not have the Evo update.
@audipwr1 as for EVO updates on this one, this early production car appears to only have the wing and trunk lid from the EVO package. The EVO was an update mandated by SRO to allow the car to continue to compete after a given year by updating it to a M240 spec. That package was nearly all cosmetics. There is an update package for the rear suspension that replaces the stamped steel control arm and motorsport spec bushings, with fabricated control arms using monoball joints. This is a significant upgrade. There are also some minor software updates and a new steering rack that really don't seem to add much to the package. For track days and local-level club racing, this car would be a good runner. The rear suspension can be updated easily and engine performance software can easily add 60 hp with minimal impact on reliability. . I hope that helps.
@gerhard997 The listing mentions the car has been professionally maintained the last 2 years, do you have service records you could share?
Bid in the amount of $51,000
@audipwr1 ..thanks for the inquiry. I will check with owner shortly but I believe it is stock.

Good Morning Pcar folks. Please bid with confidence. This Mcar is as clean as it gets for a 10 year old track toy!
You will not be disappointed in the clean appearance, classic M stripe decals and performance this will provide for years to come!
@Leigh2 -You are most welcome and thank you for your bid. This is much more economical to run than most any Porsche I have encountered over the years. ( 32 year P.C.A. member )
Bid in the amount of $50,000
@gerhard997 OK thanks. I’m used to Porsche cups where at xx hours an engine rebuild is due.
@Leigh2 @Leigh2-not sure what you mean by major service. Engine is stock requires 5k mile oil changes, however this is a dedicated track car. Therefore, most would go through entire vehicle prior to each track season. I would have a qualified shop go through everything...new brake fluid and pads of choice, fresh oil and new filters. Safety check re seats and harnesses. Alignment setup for new driver perhaps. Flush transmission fluid for peace of mind perhaps.
When is the next major service interval for the engine and gearbox?
Car can be viewed by appointment starting Sept.3rd in Long Vally NJ
Sold with Bill of sale as stated in the header. Title Status: Bill of Sale
what type of documentation is this sold with? Is it just a Bill sale or is there some importation paperwork as well?
Thank you Bimmerracer. I will find out if the upgrade was done but I believe it is stock from factory.
This looks to be a nice early Euro market car with low mileage. These differ from the later cars with welded rear cage mounts, CF fender liners instead of molded plastic and a few other details. Seller: has this car received the EVO rear suspension updates to fabricated monoball control arms? Some chassis pics would surely help your listing. GLWS

BMW Motorsport is adding a new car to its customer racing range, which is spearheaded by the BMW Z4 GT3, in the form of the BMW M235i Racing. At a price of 59,500 Euros (plus VAT), this car helps to make motorsport affordable on an entry-level basis. Customer feedback has been very positive so far. No wonder, as the new car is a true beauty. But see for yourself... happy bidding!!!
No, it has not been raced competitively. The current owner only used it for approx. 20-25 Drivers Ed track days. Original owner used it as his personal track car within a fleet of 235i racing that he owned.
Has this car been raced competitively, and if so, what series?
