The Radical SR3 is an ultra-lightweight purpose-built race car that has been produced by Radical Sportscars in Peterborough, England, since 2002. This 2012 Radical SR3 1500 is powered by a Suzuki Hayabusa-derived 1.5-liter inline-four engine paired with a 6-speed sequential transaxle and features staggered-diameter center-lock wheels, Intrax adjustable coilovers, an adjustable rear wing, a fire suppression system, a cockpit-adjustable brake bias, fixed bucket seats, and a carbon fiber dashboard with an AiM MXL digital display. Purchased by the seller in 2023, it has since been professionally refinished in orange and fitted with new batteries, lights, tires, lug nuts, and exterior vents. Accompanied by a 24’ enclosed trailer, an extra set of wheels, and a collection of spare parts, this Radical SR3 1500 is now being offered for auction out of Ohio with approximately 109 chassis hours and 30 engine hours logged.
This SR3 wears fiberglass bodywork mounted to a carbon steel spaceframe chassis. Upon the seller’s acquisition, new vents and lights were installed, cosmetic repairs were made, and some areas were reinforced with extra fiberglass layers before the bodywork was completely refinished in single-stage orange paint. Equipment includes a roll bar, an F1-style center air intake, an adjustable rear wing, a rear diffuser, front and side splitters, carbon fiber canards, louvered fender vents, black headlamp covers, carbon fiber mirrors, and integrated tow hooks. The car rides on 15”/16” center-locking wheels dressed in new racing tires. An additional set of wheels and tires is included in the sale.
The two-person cockpit features bucket seats, Radical-branded headrests, Schroth safety harnesses, a three-spoke Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel, paddle shifters, a fire suppression system, a battery cutoff switch, a brake bias adjuster, and a carbon fiber dashboard with an AiM MXL digital dash display.
Power comes from a Suzuki Hayabusa-derived 1.5-liter RPE inline-four engine featuring a dry dump lubrication system, tubular headers, and a center-exit exhaust. The rear wheels are driven by a 6-speed sequential transaxle. Equipment includes a fully adjustable suspension with Intrax coilovers, and slotted disc brakes at all four corners. The batteries were replaced under the seller’s ownership along with several nuts and bolts. The hardware was re-torqued to factory specs, the wiring harness was tested, and a new gas cap was installed. The seller adds that the car has not seen track use under their ownership.
This race car is offered with a bill of sale, spare wheels and tires, various spare parts, and a 24’ J&L’s Cargo Express enclosed trailer. The trailer is outfitted with an air-conditioning unit, lighting, storage cabinets, a tool chest, and a spare tire rack.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased the car over a year ago with the intent of a mild restoration. There are many extra parts included. The trailer does have some scratches and minor dents, but normal for this year and its use. I have not opened the canopy, so please assume it has some wear. The AC runs, but other than that, I have not looked into it.”

@hangryharry correct. I have not tracked it. I planned on it, but wasn’t ready until a few weeks ago and with weather in Ohio and work, I haven’t had time to
@HCHOPPM thanks. Have you not tracked the car? Only the previous owner?
I did get permission from the shop that worked on the car to give out his number. I tried putting it in this message and it won’t allow. Maybe email me or we can do this through PCar so they are pleased.
If you have any mechanical questions, please contact Donald.
I did upload the trailer tires receipt and I’m still looking for the hitch and receiver receipt. I also looked at my correspondence with the person I purchased from. This was his dad’s car and he stated the engine had 2 prior rebuilds, but did not have the receipts.
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
@hangryharry I can not. I bought the car from the previous owners estate. Log books, receipts were not with the car. I purchased the louvers and will provide a picture. I did the body work myself (10 years professionally), the paint was painted by a local shop and that was a cash transaction (1400.00). Safety harness expires 2024 . No annual tech inspection records.
Can you provide any receipts for maintenance done on the car?
Is there a log book or annual tech inspection done? Are safety items currently valid?
I will meet or deliver to the buyer within 2 hours.
FWIW, I have known the seller for years and he's very fastidious with his machines. I would bet no detail was overlooked in preparing this Radical for auction. Bid with confidence!
that is correct. he bought his parts from us.
@Autotrend the former owner stated the car had been professionally maintained. Under their ownership, it was used for track days.
the factory interval for rebuild on the motor and gdu is 40 hrs including idle/warmup time. at 30 hrs it is 75%. There are 2 factory rebuilders here stateside. plenty of support for these cars i am the authorized Radical factory dealer in the nth east USA (GROUP A) The previous owner was a customer of ours. These are for real race cars, not toys. great cars. GLWTA
@ApogeeOfFrisson the body panels had wear and cracks. The gel coat was fixed and new fiberglass where it needed. The underside of the side pods and wheel wells were thin. I used fiberglass matting and duraglass to strengthen and fix these areas and a repaint (single stage) . The nose, splitter, and engine covers had the same treatment. Brakes are new from previous owner. Mechanically, I had a professional shop re-torque, and look over everything, including the wiring. Drivetrain is strong. Email me for the shops number.
Can you tell us what the restoration consisted of?
@HCHOPPM Thank you!
@jmbarba76 the only track video I have is from the website that hosted the auction when I purchased. I have contacted Pcar about this and waiting on a reply.
@HCHOPPM Are you planning on posting them here or can you email them to me? Id like to see it running on a track. Thanks.
@jmbarba76 I do from the previous owner. I have not tracked the car.
Bid in the amount of $4,000
Do you have any track videos?
Thank you for bidding on a very nice track car and trailer! Please ask questions, and I will answer the best I can. Good luck to everyone.
