Up for auction is this 2012 McLaren MP4-12C finished in White.  The first-ever road-going vehicle to have been entirely designed and built in-house by McLaren, the 12C was produced from 2011-2014 and features a carbon fiber MonoCell chassis, F1-derived technology, and a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that sends over 600 HP to the rear wheels.  This 2012 example features optional carbon fiber trim, lightweight forged wheels, red-painted brake calipers, and a two-tone red and black interior trimmed in leather and Alcantara.  Sold new in California and cared for by two prior owners, this MP4-12C shows just over 3,600 miles on the odometer and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Costa Mesa, CA.

This McLaren comes finished in White with carbon fiber trimmed mirror housings, side blades, and red-painted brake calipers.  Designed under the direction of Frank Stephenson, the MP4-12C is characterized by its exposed carbon monocoque structure, dihedral-opening doors, large side air intakes, transparent engine cover, and active rear wing.  The exterior is described to have been kept in excellent condition overall, reflecting a lifetime of sparing use.  Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  The factory 20" lightweight forged wheels come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.

The cabin is appointed with red leather and black Alcantara complemented by gloss carbon fiber trim. A premium Meridian sound system is equipped along with a portrait screen infotainment system, heated and power-operated seats with memory settings, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a central tachometer flanked by digital driver information displays.  The control panel in the center console houses an engine start/stop button, toggles for aerodynamic and transmission settings, and buttons to engage Active, Winter, and Launch modes.

Power comes from an all-aluminum 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 engine paired with a 7-speed McLaren dual-clutch Seamless Shift Gearbox (SSG) which can be shifted manually using the paddles mounted on the steering wheel.  An output of up to 616 HP and 442 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels, allowing the MP4-12C to reach 60 MPH in as little as 3 seconds with a top speed of nearly 220 MPH.  Standard performance features include variable electro-hydraulic power steering, McLaren ProActive Chassis Control, two-piece disc brakes, and an active rear wing that serves as both a spoiler and airbrake.  Limited service information is available, and the seller reports no outstanding maintenance items at this time.

This sale will include the original battery charger, tire repair kit, and a clean title. Having set the standard for mid-engine supercars upon its debut, the MP4-12C is the car that put McLaren back on the map and paved the way for their success as an automaker. Do not miss the chance to add this nicely configured and sparingly driven 2012 example to your collection.

My color choice, My HP power choice, and I may even at 80 years old be able to get in and out of this car (without dignity, of course). My wife at 80 will need entry exit help but, So What??
Gorgeous car and superior to the new Corvette C8 in most all ways. Except not able to carry golf clubs, but I am not yet a golfer. Maybe when I hit 100 I will give golf a try. Must sell off some of my 14 cars, but will do that if necessary to fund this. Will be better than owning a gazillion shares of some stocks that one cannot see or enjoy. IMHO

Drove a 2012 MP4-12C for 3 years and every trip in it was a special event (put 15K+ miles on it).
Stunning performance, very comfortable ride in the "normal" mode, and excellent build quality. Added benefit; the valets would move the GT3's and Turbos to park it in front.
