Honoring the name of the high-speed straight of the Le Mans racing circuit, the Bentley Mulsanne was introduced as the first flagship luxury car independently designed by Bentley since the year 1930. The Mulsanne offers beautiful hand-crafted accommodations for its passengers along with a full complement of modern technology and a twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing over 500 HP. This 2012 example was initially ordered at a sticker price of over $318k and presents a combination of Light Sapphire paint over a Saddle leather interior. With one previous owner, this classic time capsule is now being offered for auction while showing less than 6k miles on the odometer.
The elegant coachwork of the Bentley Mulsanne was styled by Dirk van Braeckel who was also responsible for designing Bentley’s contemporary Continental GT, Flying Spur, and Brooklands models. This example is finished in Light Sapphire (65), one of 114 exterior paint colors offered by the factory. It features an optional chromed radiator shell with a bright stainless-steel matrix grille, a flying "B” radiator mascot, chromed radiator shell with a bright stainless-steel Matrix Grille, a jewel fuel filler cap, a bright stainless steel door pillar finisher, and 20” polished alloy wheels which come dressed in new Pirelli Scorpion tires. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Saddle leather upholstery, complemented by trim veneered in optional Vavona burl wood. Optional features also include front and rear seat ventilation and massage functions, veneered gear lever, picnic tables, iPod drawer, minor gauges panel, and door panels, illuminated fold-down front and rear quarter vanity mirrors, ambient lighting, and Bentley emblems and chrome inlays along the interior waistband. Side and rear-view cameras are also optionally equipped, while 4-zone automatic climate control, power windows, rear window defogger, front map lights, and an electrochromic rearview mirror come standard.
The twin-turbocharged 6.75-liter V8 Bentley L-Series engine produces up to 505 HP and 752 lb.-ft of torque and features variable displacement and cam phasing for improved fuel efficiency. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Shift Interface, Sport Mode, and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Other performance features include electronically controlled air springs with Continuous Damping Control (CDC) and Drive Dynamics Control. The seller adds that this example has been serviced yearly since new by specialists at Post Oak Motorcars of Texas, and the latest service was carried out in October 2022 to include a 10-year scheduled service.
This sale will include a clean title, two keys, owner's manuals, a spare tire, and a toolkit.
