Now available for auction is this rare 2011 Porsche 997 GT2 RS finished in Guards Red over a black and red leather interior with Alcantara. Marking #480 out of 500 examples built for the entire world, this GT2 RS represents the final iteration of the legendary Mezger engine. With its large PCCB brakes, 6-speed manual transmission and twin turbocharged flat-six engine sending 620 HP to the rear wheels, the GT2 RS is often regarded as the most extreme and high-performance 997 ever made. Highlighting some desirable factory options as well autographs from Porsche racing drivers Patrick Long and Hurley Haywood, this 1-owner 2011 example is now being offered for auction with a warranty and approximately 4k miles showing on the odometer.
This GT2 RS is finished in Guards Red with an exposed carbon fiber hood as well as carbon fiber trim on the mirrors, air ducts and rear diffuser. Having had its clear protective film recently removed, the paint is stated to be in like-new condition (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). This RS is factory equipped with standard fenders and silver painted 19” GT3 center lock wheels which come dressed in new Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
Inside, this RS features a two-tone red and black leather interior with Alcantara details. The cabin is noted to be in exceptional original condition with no modifications. Unique details include a limitation plaque located on the glove box as well as personal autographs from both Patrick Long and Hurley Haywood located under front bonnet. Accompanied by a factory build sheet totaling over $251k, this GT2 RS showcases the following exclusive options:
The GT2 RS carries a highly sought after 3.6 L twin turbocharged flat-six Mezger engine which sends 620 HP to the rear wheels by way of a precise 6-speed manual transmission. Using this visceral drivetrain, the GT2 RS is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.5 seconds while reaching a top speed of over 200 MPH. Designed to shatter Nurburgring lap records, the RS features PCCB ceramic composite brakes, improved cooling systems, revised aerodynamics and a lightweight design which saves 154 lbs. over the standard 997 GT2. A recent full service was performed in January of 2020 and the seller indicates that this GT2 RS has been cared for diligently while only seeing a few DE events on the track. Reported to be in like-new driving condition with a warranty, this GT2 RS is ready for a new owner.
The sale of this legendary supercar will include a set of two keys, owner’s books and warranty information. This exemplary GT2 RS is a must have for any dedicated Porsche collector, do not miss out on this incredible opportunity.
