The manual 997.2 is being called by many “the last true Porsche sports car”. The design, reliability, and driving characteristics are the reason they have become so in demand. Previously purchased on PCARMARKET, this 2011 997.2 Carrera S up for auction represents a very nice spec that is not often seen on the 911 cabriolet. It was sold new, maintained, and sold as a certified vehicle to the previous owner by Porsche of Delaware. Since the current owners purchase, less than 200 total miles have been driven and a sale was commissioned due to some changes in the current owner's life. It is now being offered in excellent condition by a private seller in Bluffton, SC.
Finished in timeless Meteor Gray Metallic, this car shows incredibly well. The seller states that there have never been any paint or body repairs during his ownership and that the original paint on this car shows to be in excellent condition with well below average wear. This car rides on its original factory upgraded 19" Turbo II wheels that are wearing a set of Bridgestone Potenza tires with excellent tread depth and are date stamped from 2013. The original build also included 5mm wheel spacers, clear glass taillights, and 911 model designation on the rear deck lid making this one is just a little extra special.
Inside, you will find a traditional yet sporty black leather interior with many nice factory enhancements. Most noticeable are the factory sport seats with Meteor Gray painted backs. Porsche crests in the headrests, Bluetooth, heated seats, and more helped bring the original MSRP up to $114k when new. A copy of the original build sheet is displayed in the photo gallery.
Power comes from a 3.8L flat-six engine that produces 385HP. 0-60 is easily achieved in about 3.7 seconds with this 997’s extremely desirable 6-speed manual transmission. Equipped with the Sport Chrono Package Plus, the driver of this 997.2 can re-map the engine and enhance this car’s performance characteristics on the fly, allowing for the ultimate driving experience. This car is stated to be in excellent mechanical condition. Multiple service records are shown on the Carfax report and help to confirm this claim.
Included in the sale of this Carrera S Cabriolet are the original books, 2 keys, and a clean Carfax report. 997’s are rapidly gaining market value as Porsche continues to roll out more refined and less visceral vehicles, making this fully original and pristine 997.2 a sound investment. Do not miss this opportunity to own what many consider to be the last true driver’s 911.

@skisofast the car is presently in “Deal Tank” with no new bids since..initial Auction has several bids but did not reach reserve amount...we have an interested party viewing car next week but still open to offers
Why does this say no offers yet while I see a bid of $40,000.00??
Not sure on Mfg of new top..will get back to you as soon as supplier/installer responds...NOT CHEAP!!
@Bwhitwo Is the top replacement OEM and Porsche part?
11/8/19. This car is getting a new Convertible top next week
Bid in the amount of $40,000
Bid in the amount of $27,000
Bid in the amount of $25,250
I don’t know about Sport exhaust..please check build sheet...I know it sounds great...reference the top..as previously stated I think the top has typical ringkles from being in open stored position but I am not an expert...up to you on the looks..I have not checked on replacement cost as it is not an issue with me
@Bwhitwo Thanks for your reply! Does your 997 have sport exhaust. With regard to the convertible roof, the pictures show extreme wear and tear and not very pleasant to look at. Why does it show so poorly? What would be the cost to replace the top? Since info live in NY and the rope I’ll be up most of the time, I would not be very happy seeing the top every day in the condition shown in the pictures. Are there any noticeable blemishes that might not be picked up from the pictures. Otherwise it seems like a great car!! Thanks
According to shown build sheet (original) this is S model....emblem on back only says 911...as previously stated no holes or leaks in convertible top
According to the info provided you are selling this as a 911 S however on the rear is says 911 NOT 911 S. Could you verify. Also does the cab leak when it rains? It appears to have as others have noticed extreme wear and tear on both sides in the rear. Thanks
@myronf ..yes, has Navigation, CD player & port for SIM card (???) & of course Blue tooth interface for cells..& heated seats..very comfortable ride
Does this car have the navigation module? Thanks.
To the best of my knowledge, no paint touch ups and nothing showing on Carfax
Car looks great. Any paint work? In some of your pictures, It looks like the front bumper may have been repainted.
@Bwhitwo....and @xqzme78228......far be it from me, as a “mere” 1990 944S2 cabriolet owner.....to tell a “real Porsche” owner this (though to be honest, I love your Cab! It is my favorite color combo.....just not a good time for me to buy another car).....I still have my original convertible roof on my 944. Annually, I use the Porsche-branded two-part shampoo and conditioner during the last wash prior to storage for the winter. It does a lot to eliminate the wear “lightening” at the corner folds. My guess is that a good conditioning of the roof will lessen those wear marks. Best of luck with your auction results, sir.....it is a gorgeous car!!
I am not an expert, but it appears to me that on this car and several others I have seen, that maybe while the top is stored down it develops some slightly unsightly wrinkles...this one also has what appears to be small repair on drivers side..however, no leaks
On the back corners of the convertible top, when it’s closed, there appears to be something happening to it on either side. Is there a problem starting to develop with the top?
Thanks
