This 2009 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet represents the final year of the 3.6-liter Mezger engine and features a 6-speed manual transmission sending power to all four wheels. It comes finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a tan Leather to Sample interior with the optional Makassar wood trim package. The car was also configured with optional heated Adaptive Sport Seats, the Sport Chrono Package, a thicker three-spoke steering wheel, leather sun visors, red taillights, the Park Assist System, and a limited-slip rear differential lock. The current owner purchased this 997 in September 2023 and it has since been serviced with a new clutch and flywheel, a new shifter, an oil change, a brake fluid flush, and new rear brakes. Showing approximately 63k miles on the odometer, this 911 Turbo Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of Virginia.

The exterior is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and includes a power-operated black cabriolet top, bi-xenon headlights, optional red taillights, and 19” 911 Turbo wheels. Other equipment includes wide fenders with side air intakes, fog lamps, auto-dimming power mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, dual exhaust outlets, a speed-activated rear spoiler, rear ParkAssist sensors, and red Porsche-branded brake calipers. The car rides on Pirelli P Zero tires from 2022 and the exterior has been professionally treated with XPEL Fusion Premium ceramic coating. The seller notes some touched-up chips on the front hood, a small ding above the left rear wheel, and cosmetic damage to the lower front spoiler. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features tan Leather to Sample upholstery accented by optional Makassar wood trim. Other options include heated 16-way Adaptive Sport Seats with driver memory, leather sun visors, a thicker three-spoke leather steering wheel, a Makassar wood rear center console, and a dashboard-mounted Sport Chrono stopwatch. The car is also equipped with automatic climate control, cruise control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a Bose sound system, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with Bluetooth and navigation. A new shifter was installed in December 2023 and the seller notes the factory-optioned fire extinguisher is not included, although the bracket remains in place. Two of the radio selection buttons are not working properly.

Rated at 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip rear differential lock. The optional Sport Chrono Package enables an overboost setting for temporary increased peak torque of 505 lb.-ft. Standard equipment includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), an automatic brake differential (ABD), and fixed 4-piston brakes with 350mm cross-drilled rotors at each corner. The seller notes the battery, rear brake pads and rotors, and brake fluid were replaced in December 2023, the clutch and flywheel were replaced in February 2024, and the last oil service was completed in June 2024.

This sale will include two keys, owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know:  "I have owned a variety of British and Japanese sports cars from the 1960s and 1970s. I thought it was finally time to buy a much more powerful and modern sportscar. I have loved this 911 Turbo. It is the last of Porsche's manual turbos. It provides a truly great driving experience. It was obviously loved and cared for before I bought it. Likewise, I have kept it stored in a garage during my ownership and have maintained it properly. I really hate to let it go, but ... it is time. Good luck to all bidders. I am confident the next owner will enjoy it as much as I have."

@Godocgo You are so right on.
This car is still overpriced by $13K.
And that's after the $5K price reduction.
    reduction.

@abugiac the reserve is not the same as the ask/buy now price?

  • Godocgo (registered bidder) 2 weeksago

I was a bidder on BAT on this car as well, I ended up buying the same year turbo in triple black, with tons of upgrades, including bigger turbos, intercoolers, lifetime warranty on the spoiler hydraulic, piano black interior including seat backs, with carbon interior accents, custom oversized carbon steering wheel etc. etc for 69500. Fly up to Charlotte tomorrow to drive it home. Keep looking everyone your dream ride is out there at a reasonable cost.

@List-Renn I appreciate the thoughts. The beauty of an auction is that everyone is allowed to express their opinions, either through comments or through their bids. In my case, of course, it is through setting a reserve.

i totallly agree with @Autotrend 's comment below.
A simple BaT/PCAR auction history search yields (for both Coupe and Cab "997.1.5" turbos) a huge spread of valuations mostly based on mileage and the 6MT bump. Buyers reward low and discount higher miles, options and condition being equal.

Add to that data the drilled front bumper, dent above rear wheel well, replacement/deletion of the OEM short shift kit and an undated (albeit brief) Range 4 over rev 62 hours/ approx 2200 miles ago...alll are headwinds.

Purely personal preference, the leather/wood trim are gorgeous, as you stated and the pictures display.

Your "local cash" offers are your best bet if it repeats if a RNM on both platforms.

    GLWA.

  • Danhattan (seller) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

@collectorcars yes, original paint. Thanks for asking.

  • collectorcars (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 4 daysago

    @seller original paint?

  • Danhattan (seller) 2 weeks, 5 daysago

@abugiac Ugh. I will be out of town for Thanksgiving. I can arrange for you to visually inspect it while I am gone if you like.

  • Danhattan (seller) 2 weeks, 5 daysago

@Autotrend thanks. It really is a looker. I have been offered more in cash by locals than the BAT auction. I appreciate your thoughts but I am happy to keep it ... if I must! It is a super fun car to drive.

  • abugiac (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 5 daysago

@danhattan -- any chance you're in town and available to show the car on friday?...i'm in vienna...

  • Autotrend (registered bidder) 2 weeks, 5 daysago

this is a lovely car, but i thought it brought more than enough at the last auction. unfortunately mileage is king. most people would be willing to pay $20k more for a 20,000 miles less odometer. a sincere glwta to the seller. nice car.

Welcome to my auction. I will monitor this site and respond to questions as quickly as I can. This 911 Turbo is a lot of fun to drive, especially in Sport Mode. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, but for me the cognac looking custom leather interior with Basalt Black exterior is an amazing color combo. Good luck.
