Finished in Macadamia Metallic over a Sand Beige interior, this 2008 Porsche 987 Boxster S pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It was further configured with a Cocoa soft top, 19” Sport Design wheels, heated front seats, the Bose High-End Sound Package, the Sport Chrono Package, the Preferred Package, and body-color interior elements. Cared for by two previous owners, this 987 is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of Louisiana with less than 25k miles showing on the odometer.

This color combo looks so good, and the overall condition is amazing. Seems worth the IMS and Bore scoring risks for a reasonable cost (so far). Prior owner of 987.1 and 987.2 Caymans.

@sour much easier to pull plugs and coils, than it is to drop and reseal the pan. Especially if the pan isn’t currently leaking and you’re not looking to make any upgrades while you’re in there anyway… or if the oil doesn’t need to be changed yet and has only 400 miles on it!! But to each their own, I’m open for more work, at buyers dime of course!
@Nolasport Appreciate the quick response. Borescope mostly as a precaution due to the reputation with the 987.1's, particularly "S" models. If you were to do the borescope, do you start below from the sump, as that's where the scoring generally begins if it exists?
That said, sounds like you are okay with making it a condition to finalize purchase as it shouldn't show anything negative, would this be correct?
@sour no borescope or oil analysis has been performed as the car mechanically shows no signs of weakness or issues. Of course a borescope inspection is possible but not until after auction ends being there’s less than a day left. Happy to perform the inspection if you/the buyer considers me a “reputable Porsche mechanic” as my shop has three divisions; sales, service, and motorsports. Although one might consider that a biased inspection I suppose? Anywho, bid with confidence… she’s a rather unique spec car that drives out like she just left the assembly line!
Has any borescope been done or any oil analysis to check levels present?
If not, would a borescope from reputable Porsche mechanic on customer dime as requirement to complete purchase be available?
@eaturanalp swapped wheels? The wheels are stock…. came on the car from Germany. Of course I have the wheel lock key, comes with the car, yes.
Common concern for swapped wheels: do you have the Porsche wheel lock key for these wheels?
No issues at all, no. Don't let an 8 year interval alarm you on a switch, common problem on 987/997!!
clutch pedal switch replaced in 2016 and 2024? is there a known issue about car not starting, an intermittent starting issues, or error codes that are not being disclosed? whats behind this and can you fully explain the issue??
Bid in the amount of $13,500
Bid in the amount of $12,777
@eaturanalp Both key fobs work, of course, yes.
Tires are from 2016 and have 10,000 miles on them.
Soft top is in excellent shape, the car was stored in a climate controlled garage with the top up to avoid creasing/ tears in the fabric.
Paint meter photos have been added to the gallery to show all original paint, and yes a detail was performed before the photos were taken.
@Phantomboy 235/35R19 front and 265/35R19 rear, no fender rubbing at all. Stock wheels and stock fitment tires on stock suspension. Front wheels are 19x8 and rears are 19x9.5.
@Manutranman5217 Service records have been sent to the auction manager via PDF and will be added to the auction soon.
@ledrevolver undercarriage photos have been added to the gallery!

Does both of the remote keys work?
Tires from?
Soft top condition? - was it garaged?
Paint reader? Detailing done before pictures taken?
Thank you @nolasport
Beautiful car. What size are the 19” tires? I can’t quite make it out from the pictures. It looks as if they have been rubbed a bit by the fender. Also what are the widths of the rims? The spec sheet does not say… only that they are 19” sport wheels.
CarFax shows no service except tires since 2014/4200 miles? Any other service records abailable?

Thanks, I do not at the moment but might be able to crawl under her in the showroom and get some.
Nice driving video, do you have any undercarriage photos?
Bid in the amount of $10,000
@XHILLR8 No records of bearing lubrication, no. However the description straight from LN Engineering's website is as follows in regards to IMS bearing failure in the 08' Boxster S: "The incidence of IMS failures in 2006-2008 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models with the M96 or M97 engine is very low. We would estimate about a 1% failure rate". This car is HEALTHY as far as I can tell, and it was a fantastic weekend cruiser for my client...
From what I understand, this has the single-row, non-serviceable, IMS bearing. Any record of it having grease seal removed to allow the engine oil to properly lubricate the bearing?
Videos and carfax have been added to the gallery!
@patco2927 morning, yes of course. I’ll upload some videos today. PCAR usually links the carfax to the auction so hopefully they will do so today.
Good morning, is it possible to see driving video, cold start, and top operation? As well as link to carfax?
Thanks
