Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2008 Porsche 997 Turbo Cabriolet is finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a Black full leather interior with optional deviated stitching, painted hardback Sport Seats, seatbelts in Guards Red, stainless-steel door sills, and more. The car was also factory-equipped with optional painted exterior accents, Sport Chrono Package Turbo, and Parking Assist System. It was purchased by the current owner in 2017 at approximately 34k miles and has since been fitted with a full Fabspeed exhaust system, a new clutch, a short shifter, a performance ECU tune, and an upgraded double-din Pioneer head unit. Benefitting from a recent PPI and engine-out service with upgraded coolant lines, this 997 Turbo Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of New York with approximately 49k miles showing on the odometer.
This 997 is finished in Basalt Black Metallic with optional matching painted air intakes, rocker panels, and lower rear apron. Other details include bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, optional red taillights, integrated side air intakes, black Fabspeed exhaust tips, red brake calipers, and a speed-activated rear spoiler with an upgraded electric ram kit. It rides on black-painted 19” 911 Turbo wheels mounted with new Continental ExtremeContact tires upon the owner’s purchase in 2017. The seller adds that the plastic front and rear bumper covers were refinished under their ownership to address cosmetic imperfections. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting minor damage in 2020.
The cabin is appointed with Black full leather upholstery complemented by optional deviated Guards Red stitching and seatbelts. Other options include heated Adaptive Sport Seats with painted backrests and Porsche-crested headrests, an embossed storage compart lid, stainless-steel door sills with Turbo insignias, a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a special handbrake and gear lever, and Parking Assist System. The seller indicates an aftermarket short shifter was installed under their ownership along with a high-end Pioneer Bluetooth double-din head unit with an integrated backup camera.
Rated at 480 HP and 460 lb.-ft of torque stock, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine delivers power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The optional Sport Chrono Package Turbo is equipped and a full Fabspeed exhaust system was professionally installed under current ownership. A reversible performance ECU tune was also installed and is accompanied by a handheld tuning module. A comprehensive 30k miles service was performed in 2017 including a new clutch, and the car recently underwent a PPI and engine-out service at Porsche Brooklyn which included new CV axle boots, a power steering hose, and an upgraded coolant line kit.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I purchased the vehicle with roughly 34,000 miles on it in 2017 from Intersport Motors, a five-star high-end performance car dealership in McLean Virginia, outside of Washington DC. Prior to my purchase, I had a full Porsche PPI inspection performed at Porsche Tyson's Corner, who informed me the vehicle had no high level over revs and was in excellent condition, was a great example of the model, and that I would do well to purchase it. I have owned the car ever since and have put on approximately 15,000 miles during that time. Upon purchase, I immediately invested in a full mild Fabspeed exhaust (over $4000 for the parts alone – mild so that the car sounds great, but does not become tiresome during long drives), a full comprehensive 30,000-mile servicing of the car, a new clutch, short throw gear shifter (one of the best and most enjoyable items I put in the car), performance tuning (car is currently in a standard tune, but the module with the very well dialed in tune comes with the car and can be reinstalled at the new owner’s choice – makes it an absolute rocket), ultra-high performance Continental Contact Extreme tires, a high-end modern Double DIN Bluetooth Pioneer radio inclusive of a hi-def color back up camera and other items to enhance the car, which made it even better. The work was all done at Bimmer Motors Group in Long Island City NY, a renowned five-star performance car specialist shop, whose owner had the same model and year Porsche, hence was an expert at the nuances of the vehicle. Aside from the initial work I had performed, I additionally upgraded the poorly engineered rear spoiler hydraulic rams (look it up, it is one of the few overt engineering mistakes by Porsche that I know of) with vastly better electric rams, which have worked flawlessly ever since. Cosmetically, I have not altered the vehicle – the one item of note for the exterior is that the plastic front bumper cover was heavily scratched on the driver's side as a bad driver rubbed past it while he/she nosed into a parking spot ahead of my vehicle, so I had the entire cover replaced, along with the inner wheel well sleeve and had the rear plastic bumper painted at the same time to remove any and all minors nicks that had accumulated from parking – of note: no metal parts of the body have ever been hit, body worked, repaired, painted, or otherwise touched, aside from a general detailing and waxing. In preparing for this sale, I had a full PPI performed at Porsche Brooklyn – report provided. Porsche Brooklyn found the car to be in excellent order, aside from small tears in the front axle CV Joints. As I was arranging to have the necessary work performed, I noticed a slight smell of engine coolant, so Bimmer Motors Group pressurized the cooling system, which identified a minor leak in one of the upper hoses above the motor. The unfortunate part for me was that to repair it, the motor had to be taken out of the car. With such an undertaking, I opted to install a complete upgrade kit (over $1500 for the parts alone), inclusive of all pipes and hoses, so that I made sure there were no other gremlins awaiting the next owner. While the engine was out, they noticed wear and tear on the power steering hose, so that was replaced too. The rest of the motor was in great shape, thus well over $6000 later, it went back in the car. It has been working wonderfully since. As you may intuit from the points above, I have obsessively maintained the vehicle throughout my ownership with all work performed at Bimmer Motors Group, with a full-service history - report provided.”

Purchased for $75,000
Yes, the repairs are documented in the attached service history and referenced in the narrative in the auction listing
I have fastidiously taken care of all items on the car as they’ve arisen, thus the car is very well sorted out
Did they repair or change the boot with the cv axle tears?
Hi gigawatt
I’d love to show you the car
I reached out to the pcarmarket folks and here is their response:
“He has to send you a private message via the contact seller button then you exchange information”
Please message me in that manner and we can set up a day/time for us to meet
Have a great night and I look forward to meeting you,
-Joshua
Very interested in this as well, but would like an opportunity to see it in person prior to bidding. I'm local to NYC, so if mods are watching, please let me know how I could see this. Thanks.

range 1-2 not a big deal, range 3 + in a tuned car is usually because the tune increases the rev limit- but not the DME parameters. Seeing overrevs in the tuned cars is SUPER common and means a lot of dealers avoid tuned turbos as a result of not being able to CPO them.
Bid in the amount of $45,000
Alright DME experts. DME shows ignitions in ranges 3,4,5. With 3 being about 20 hours ago and the other two ranges a longer period. Concerns? Thanks

Is the full PPI report from Porsche Brooklyn included in the gallery or am I just overlooking it? If not can it be uploaded to the gallery, or sent via PM?
Bid in the amount of $12,000
To reinforce my point - a full PPI was performed by Porsche Brooklyn, confirming the car has no vestigial issues from the occurrence
Bid in the amount of $9,971
This is not a flood car
As previously answered: during a heavy rain storm, the drainage tubes were partially clogged, so some water got into the cabin, which resulted in me needing boost to get the car started
Once running, I was able to drive the car to have it evaluated and opted to perform a deep and comprehensive course of work, which resulted in the car being brought to perfect working order
There have been no vestigial issues since - neither mechanical, nor odor, nor anything.
So this is essentially a flood car that just was not reported to insurance, thus keeping the title clean. Some flood title cars do not get that much water inside them. Any other electronic issues from corrosion, any mold or mildew odor after being closed up?
Bid in the amount of $7,500
Bimmer Motors Group just sent me the original Fabspeed invoice - I tried to add the pdf but the add additional photos section wouldn't accept the pdf
I took photos of the invoice off of my computer screen and was able to upload them - they are immediately following the driver's door sill photos I uploaded earlier, all can be found at end of the photos section

UPDATE:
I just spoke with Bimmer Motors Group
The Fabspeed cats are on the car
Hello and thank you for joining in the conversation
I believe the original cats were left in place, but if not, there are otherwise the Fabspeed cats because the car has successfully passed NYS inspection every year - I have reached out to Bimmer Motors Group to ask them for a definitive answer
I do not have the original exhaust
since you are the person that had the fabspeed exhaust installed, do you still have the original exhaust and cats. does the new exhaust have the high performance fabspeed cats?
The new pix are now showing - they are after the service records at the end of photo section
Additional point: the car is in the garage where I keep it with a cover on, so I used a flashlight and angled it to best illustrate the scuff marks you were interested in
I just uploaded two photos of the driver's door sill - one wider, one more zoomed in on the forward area which has a majority of the shoe scuffs
The site indicated to me the upload was successful, but that it may take a little while for the images to display
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
I will do my best to get to the garage where it is kept during the day today, but may not be able to until tonight
As expected given the repair notes.
Could you show another picture or two of the drivers interior door threshold? Pic #62 shows a portion with scuffs & scrapes, but would like to see the whole thing.
Thanks!
Of course and thank you for your interest
During an extremely heavy rain storm (two inches in one hour) I found out the hard way that the drainage tubes from the convertible top were partly clogged, which resulted in water getting into the cabin
The computer modules are mounted under the seats, so were impacted
In keeping with my ongoing attention to making sure the car was always properly attended to, I had the seats removed immediately, the car fully dried, and the computer modules replaced, which brought the car back to full working order - there were no further issues after the comprehensive work was done
Please let me know if this answers your question, or if I can be of further assistance
In the meantime, have a great night
-Joshua
Can you share additional info on the service record dated 9/11/20 where the "REM & PDC modules were flooded with water. Remove seats & carpets. Wiring connectors & modules were replaced."
