Up for auction is this well-presented 2008 Porsche 997 Carrera S 6-speed Coupe.  Boasting an original sticker price of over $91k, this 2008 example has been outfitted with desirable options including premium 19” Turbo-style wheels and the Bose High-End Sound package.  Showing approximately 36k miles on the odometer, this 997 is now being offered for auction in excellent condition.

The Arctic Silver Metallic finish is stated to be in excellent condition with some minor signs of road going wear.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  The seller notes that Euro-style clear side markers have been installed, however, the original amber units will be included with the sale.  The seller also indicates that a service was carried out in 2019 which included new side skirt paint protection film.  This Carrera rides on gorgeous factory 911 Turbo-style wheels which are currently dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport N2 tires.

The black leather interior of this C2S is noted to be in excellent condition with all electrical components, gauges and accessories fully functional.  Amenities including power-operated heated seats and full PCM with navigation make this Carrera S an ideal sports car for casual year-round driving.  The original build sheet for this 997 highlights the following factory options:

  • Auto-Dimming Mirrors
  • Porsche Crest in Headrests
  • Bose High-End Sound Package
  • Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Power Seat Package
  • Navigation Module for PCM

This Carrera S is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.8L flat-six engine rated at 355 HP and 295 lb-ft of torque stock.  Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission making for a claimed 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed north of 180 MPH.  A Fister-style partial muffler bypass has been installed to the stock exhaust providing for enhanced exhaust flow and sound.  This car underwent a major service in the Fall of 2018 which included spark plugs, ignition coils, a drive belt, and TPMS sensors as well as fluid and filter changes.  In November 2019, a routine service was performed which consisted of a clutch and brake fluid flush, a new battery, windshield wipers, fluids and filters.  During this time a PPI was carried out which reported a slight seepage at the RMS.  It was cleaned at the time and seller reports no residue has appeared since.  This 997 is being offered for auction in solid driving condition, just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.

The sale of this Carrera S will include original books and documentation, a set of two keys, service records and a clear title.  Do not miss your chance to get behind the wheel of this brilliant 2008 997 Carrera S 6-speed.

@roblcjr Totally agree. A count of 9 in Zone 3 would not hold me back at all from this amazing car.

@craig66 From my mechanic regarding range 3:

Hey Rob, since it was just range 3 I probably only did a vehicle report. To check when it occurred we would have to look at the actual values to see the hours it occurred. Didn't think anyone would be too concerned about range 3. If it convenient for you to drop by I can check it.

I can’t get a more detailed report by end of auction. Essentially he said if it were greater than range 3 he would’ve ran a more detailed report. I definitely understand your concern.
    Thanks.

  • craig66 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@roblcjr I agree it is pretty negligible at Range 3 although it becomes even more negligible if it was at operating hour 100 vs at operating hour 1000. More just a point of interest than a real concern.

  • roblcjr (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@davyclark negative. Doesn’t have that option.

  • davyclark (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Sport Chrono Plus package on this car ?thanks

  • roblcjr (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@craig66 yeah, I’ve never noticed there aren’t hours posted. I will get with my mechanic first thing tomorrow and try to get an answer on when that occurred. Also, 9 ignitions in range 3 equates to about 0.02 seconds in that range.

  • craig66 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Any idea when the range 3 revs were. Most reports report when the over revs were in comparison to total running hours.
    Thanks
    Lovely car

  • roblcjr (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

    @roblcjr *completed, not colleges.

  • roblcjr (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@az911 It is the original clutch. Mechanic told me after the PPI it felt good, and was in good order. Brakes have 90% and 80% remaining. Tires were replaced in Fall of 2017. I do not recall the mileage. They will most likely need to be replaced within the year, depending on driving style and distance added.
Also, over the last year I have had a major and minor service competed. So all Porsche recommended services are up to date, and most of the services colleges are listed in the above description.
    Thanks.

  • az911 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

Do you have a tread-depth reading on the tires and/or know when they were last replaced (time/mileage)? Also any idea on most service to brake pads or rotors? Original clutch? My apologies if any of these items were shown on the posted PPI report but I was unable to see them while reviewing it. Thank you.

PPI will be posted today. All items in the PPI were addressed. Thanks.

  • craig66 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

    Very helpful. Thanks.

  • roblcjr (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@craig66 Zero ignitions in 4,5,6. Range 3 had 9 ignitions, likely a very brief missed shift.
As stated, the PPI did show a slight leak at the RMS. It was just enough to attract some dirt, but no oil was dripping. My mechanic advised to possibly replace it when it was time for a new clutch.
The only other thing is possibly a tire sensor starting to go bad. It will occasionally read flat tire, and then reset.
There were a few other things like the PCM antenna not reading, and the seat memory function not registering, but the radio and seat memory function both work without any issues, so he wasn’t sure why that was showing. It wasn’t a concern. Everything works as it should.
He also ran a camshaft deviation report to get some insight on the IMS, and that checked out to be ok.

  • craig66 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@roblcjr That would be awesome. In the meantime were there any over revs in the 3-6 Zone and also did the PPI identify any significant issues that will need to be addressed by the new owner. Thanks and awesome car.

  • roblcjr (seller) 4 years, 4 monthsago

@craig66 Absolutely. I can get that info to the admin and will be happy to answer any questions.

  • craig66 (registered bidder) 4 years, 4 monthsago
