Porsche debuted the original Cayman in 2006, offering a long-awaited coupe alternative to the Boxster. Internally known as the 987, it was more than just a fixed-roof Boxster, with about 20% of its components being entirely new. This 2007 example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black leather upholstery and features a 5-speed manual transmission. It comes equipped with the Sound Package Plus, 19” Carrera S wheels, automatic climate control, a remote CD changer, and more. Showing under 88k miles on the odometer, this Cayman is now being offered for auction by its seller out of South Carolina.
Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic, this Cayman features optional self-dimming mirrors with rain sensors and 19" Carrera S wheels. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, quarter panel intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a central exhaust outlet. Clear side markers have also been added. The seller also notes minor rock dings on the exterior and a small ding on the rear bumper. Paint protection film has been applied to the edges of the doors and inside handles, however, some yellowing and weathering are visible below the gas cap. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior features Black leather upholstery and includes the Sound Package Plus, automatic climate control, and a remote CD changer. The seller mentions a minor rattle from the right rear speaker at a certain frequency, a small tear at the top of the window tint on the passenger side window, and some separation of the rear hatch fabric from the liner. Additionally, the headliner was replaced approximately 5 years ago, and a clear plexiglass cover is installed over the rear engine. All gauges and electronics are reported to be fully functional.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 2.7-liter flat-six engine that delivers up to 245 HP and 201 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller mentions that the coolant system has been flushed and oil and air filter changes have been carried out annually. The battery was also replaced in December of 2023.
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction. I have owned the Cayman for 9 years and it has always been stored in a garage.”

@ghixson Thank you very much Greg. Appreciate your quick response. Beautiful car!
Good Morning, I have not changed the IMS Bearing. I am not sure if it was done prior to me purchasing the Car from McDaniel's Porsche in Columbia SC. It had 65,677 Miles on it when I bought it in 2015. I have had Zero trouble with the car. No leaks or mechanical issues. Thanks - Greg
Good Morning,
Has the IMS bearing ben changed? Any issues with oil leaks from rear main seal?
Thank you very much.
Agree that this engine is a better overall deal than the 3.4, but it still has an IMS bearing. Though it's water-cooled, this is more in the Porsche continuation than recent 911s.
