Up for auction is this Porsche 997.1 Turbo finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a black full leather interior.  This well-cared for example features heart pumping performance from a legendary 3.6 L twin-turbo Mezger engine that sends power to all four-wheels via a highly desirable 6-speed manual transmission.  This example was purchased new in Washington in 2006 and has migrated down to San Diego, CA where it currently resides with its owner of over 3 years.  It is now being offered with less than 39k miles on the odometer in excellent condition.

Optioned in Arctic Silver Metallic, the exterior paint is said to be in exceptional condition with only minor road going wear such as a few small scrapes under the front lip spoiler.  The 997 Turbo features a distinctive wide body shell, flared rear quarter panel air vents, and an uncompromising aggressive stance which is further enhanced by a set of Bilstein coilovers.  Additionally, the seller notes that a color-matched GT3-style rear wing has been installed along with aftermarket tail lights.   Keen observers will notice the highly coveted red brake calipers peeking out from behind the 19” factory 997 Turbo wheels, which come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Cup tires with less than 10k miles on them.

Inside, this Turbo features a black full leather interior balanced by a selection of desirable performance, safety, and comfort options.  The condition of the interior reflects the pride of ownership and is reported to show in excellent condition.  A new short-shifter has been installed to provide the driver shorter throws between gear changes and the factory instrument dials have been replaced with tasteful red gauges.  The seller notes that all electrical components, trim pieces, and accessories are in great working order.  Nicely spec’d when ordered new this Turbo boasts an original MSRP of $131k, and comes equipped with options such as:

  • Sport Chrono Package
  • Axle-Differential Lock Rear
  • 6-speed Manual Transmission
  • Adaptive Sport Seats
  • Leather Package (Rear Center Console, Sun Visors, Steering Wheel)

This 997’s 3.6 L twin-turbocharged engine delivers 488 HP and 457 lb-ft through Porsche’s AWD system by way of a smooth 6-speed manual transmission.  This engine uses two BorgWarner VTG turbochargers from the factory combined with Variable Turbine Geometry to significantly reduce turbo lag.  This Turbo comes equipped with the optional Sport Chrono Package, which can deliver brief moments of over boost, increasing peak torque to over 500 lb-ft.   A free-flowing Europipe exhaust system has been installed to provide greater performance and an increased exhaust note from the scintillating twin turbo engine.

This vehicle has been properly maintained throughout its life and has been serviced every year since new. New brake pads have been installed (15k miles on them) along with a new serpentine belt and K&N air filter.  Maintenance records from the previous two owners will be included in the sale.

The sale of this Turbo will include the original owner's manuals, service books, two sets of master keys, original rear wing, and gauges.  Accompanied by a clear title, this car is ready to be enjoyed by its next owner.

The DME was released too late for me to see. I would have bid on the car otherwise. Still would have liked to see undercarriage pics.

I had a GR manual 2007. It seemed faster by the Buttmeter vs my 991 Turbo S and much lighter. The manual really give a visceral experience and connection. I sold the Turbo S for a .2 GT3 manual and it replaced the 997 TT as my fav car. But, If I had the garage space I d buy this car because of its classic looks and power. For $2000 I had the ECU reprogramed and it had circa 525 HP. Good luck with auction Seller.

It always amazes me that there are so few comments on Pcar and so many on BAT! I own a 2007 MT Turbo and these cars offer an amazing combination of speed, luxury, and agility. The Mezger engine is renowned for its design and durability. Whoever buys this car will undoubtedly enjoy it tremendously. Good luck with the auction!

@Mercyhealth . I appreciate the kind words and agree 100%. The car is unbelievable fast, unbelievably clean and it handles better than any 911 I’ve driven or owned. I hate to sell this machine but life throws you curve balls once in a while. This car will not
    Disappoint!

  • Mercyhealth (registered bidder) 4 years, 5 monthsago

This car with its Mezger engine will give almost any poschefile more than you need. Relatively low miles good condition and great after market changes. This 6th generation gives us the last chance for all hydraulic steering. Plus the 997 model body is fabulous. Add all of the above with 3 peddles gives this vehicle a near super car status with daily drivability. Owning a 2008 turbo myself, which I’m sure I overpaid for, I can tell you that this car is near perfect and at a price that’s easy to reach. Much luck to both B&S. In my very subjective opinion this car is well worth north of 70,000.00
