Up for auction is this collector-grade 2007 Porsche 997.1 GT3 RS. Reported by the seller to be one of only 25 examples to finished in RS Green, this 2007 GT3 RS showcases optional Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB), a full leather interior with Speed Yellow deviated stitching, the Chrono Package Plus, and decorative RS graphics. This 1-owner 997 is said to have been originally purchased from Stevens Creek Porsche in Santa Clara, CA with all maintenance carried out through an authorized dealer including a recent preemptive 10k mile service. Offered with a recent PPI and DME report, this rare GT3 RS is now being listed in pristine original condition by its seller in Costa Mesa, CA while showing just over 9k miles on the odometer.
The striking RS Green finish on this 997 is said to be in exceptional condition with minimal signs of road-going wear (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Compared with the standard 997 GT3, the RS version features wider fenders and a larger rear wing in carbon fiber. Other noteworthy details on this example include decorative RS graphics, optional Bi-Xenon headlamps, and yellow PCCB brake calipers situated behind black painted GT3 wheels with green RS-logo center crests.
Inside, this RS features a stunning black leather and Alcantara interior with deviated stitching in Speed Yellow. The original $147k window sticker also includes Speed Yellow seatbelts, a footrest in aluminum, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) 2.1, and Chrono Package Plus. The cabin is noted to be in superb condition except for some minor creasing on the driver’s seat bolster.
The legendary 3.6 L flat-six Mezger engine in this GT3 RS features dry-sump lubrication, titanium connecting rods, and variable valve timing. A 6-speed manual transmission distributes 415 HP and 300 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels allowing for a 0-60 time of approximately 4 seconds and a top speed of over 190 MPH. The RS achieves a weight savings of approximately 44lbs. over the standard GT3 through the use of lightweight body components including a plastic rear decklid and an adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing. This example has also been optioned with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) that offer superior stopping power. The car is said to have always been serviced at Porsche of Livermore, CA with a comprehensive 10k mile service performed preemptively at 8,915 miles in 2016. The car passed a California smog test in 2018 and a DME report is available showing only a couple of overrevs in ranges 1 and 2. This RS is said to be in exceptional driving condition with accompanying service records showing proper maintenance.
This sale will include a set of 2 keys, the original books and tools, service records, the original window sticker, and a clean title. With its incredibly rare paint color and exclusive factory options, this low-mileage 997.1 GT3 RS is sure to satisfy the standards of even the most discerning collector.
