Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six engine, this 2007 Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupe is finished in Meteor Grey Metallic over a Black leather interior. The car is factory-optioned with heated power seats, a painted rear center console, the Bose High-End Sound Package, Sport Chrono Package Plus, and the Sport Exhaust System. It was purchased by the seller from Isringhausen Porsche in October 2007 and has been modified with a ducktail rear spoiler, smoked LED taillights, tinted windows, and black-painted 19” Carrera S wheels. Showing approximately 26k miles on the odometer, this 997 is now being offered for auction by its longtime owner out of Illinois.

Finished in Meteor Grey Metallic, this Carrera S Coupe features bi-xenon headlights, fog lights, heater power mirrors, an electric sunroof, aftermarket tinted LED taillights, tinted windows, a fixed ducktail rear spoiler, polished quad exhaust tips, red brake calipers, and black-painted 19” Carrera S wheels with polished outer lips. The Firestone tires show 2010 production date codes and are recommended for replacement. The seller notes the car sustained damage to the hood and front bumper in 2018, and the exterior was completely refinished in its original color along with replacement of the hood and front bumper by North Shore Auto Rebuilders. The aftermarket spoiler and taillights were also installed during that time. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a full CARFAX report.

The Black leather interior features a matching Alcantara headliner, optional heated power-adjustable seats, a painted rear center console, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, and a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch. Other accessories include automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, the optional Bose High-End Sound Package, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM). The seller notes that the stereo turns on and off intermittently.

Rated at 355 HP and 295 lb.-ft of torque, the 3.8-liter flat-six engine sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The car is equipped with fixed 4-piston brakes, cross-drilled rotors, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), the optional Sport Exhaust System, and Sport Chrono Package Plus which includes Sport and Sport Plus settings for the dampers and drivetrain. The seller indicates the clutch was replaced at approximately 23k miles.

This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thanks for visiting my auction.  I have owned this car since October 2007.  Fantastic car in fantastic condition.  I've been driving 911s since the 80s, this seemed to be such the pinnacle of the iconic series.  In terms of water-cooled and closest to its original roots, I’d have to say the 997 is the series.  I've owned and/or driven all of the series but for the 996.  The 991 and 992 are great series and great cars, they're just further removed from the original 911s.  Two back surgeries and an injury nearly a year ago have sidelined my driving activity and I am selling what 911s I have left.”

@TommyPcar after getting email for this car in the deal tank I immediately came here to post the same thing! I'm a little surprised it didn't go above $40k given it is low mileage example. The full repaint probably turned off bidders, seen that happen many times.

Pretty large ask on the seller’s part given the car’s info and lack of color rarity. Almost a $20k divergence between bid and ask, yikes!

invoice should be in the file, i'll check - North Shore Auto Rebuilders, Steve Nuermayer did all the work. the receipt details it - taken apart - windows out, etc. and i have the original deck lid with the Carrera S script in Silver. i saw the car with the paint job in progress. Don't think i have any photos, but i'll look.

  • Bernie (registered bidder) 1 month, 4 weeksago

So just to clarify… the entire car was repainted front hood to rear deck lid after the accident you described? Why would you paint the entire car? Do you have invoices from the work performed?

i just added two copies (by mistake) of the same photo of the damage that was done to the front bumper and the visual front bumper (the hole) and the front hood. All 3 were replaced, as well as the hood latch and lift arms.

Beautiful 997. Do you have the service records? Based on the milage I assume this was a warm weather car, is that accurate? Or was it driven in winter when the road were clear?

  • Fastman72 (seller) 2 monthsago

My experience with all the 911s i've had is they go every 25k miles or so, at least in the city. As for the "accident" - an SUV put its tow hook through the front bumper - like a hole, and it caught the tip of the hood, which was closed, so it bent it up, badly enough that i wanted it replaced, with the lift arms, the latch, and the rest of the car painted. I added the ducktail after i'd seen one on a club sport-? 997 and thought it looked cool. I also wanted to change out my taillights for the LED aftermarket that Steve (North Shore Auto Rebuilders on N. Broadway in Chicago) sourced and installed when he did the replacements and paint work. I have the original engine lid that has the Carrera S script/emblem and comes with the car. I don't have the original taillights. Let me know if you have additional questions. Mileage is 25800, and I forgot to mention the tire pressure sensors need the batteries replaced when the tires are replaced. I just check it manually. Also, i installed a new battery about a month ago.

  • MrGeorge (registered bidder) 2 monthsago

What was the accident and how extensive was the damage?

  • Adamsadd (registered bidder) 2 monthsago

Why was the clutch replaced at only 23k miles?

  • dmorici (registered bidder) 2 monthsago

B E A utiful car! I have a similar question to jross, and would also like to know if the fenders suffered any damage in the incident. Some more details would be greatly appreciated. With the entire car being refinished was all of the glass
The ducktail is very nice, what is the manufacturer and do you have the original decklid?

I recently sold an 86' in the same color and this would make for the perfect replacement!

  • jross 2 monthsago

Do you have the oem tail lights?

  • jross 2 monthsago

So after the front collision the whole car was repainted ?

  • spreen (registered bidder) 2 monthsago

Looks like my old Lakeview - Lincoln Park hood! Took my 997.2 south this year to Charlotte leaving those Chicago short driving seasons behind. GLWTA
