Finished in Speed Yellow over a black interior with leather Sport Seats, this 2006 Porsche 987 Cayman is factory-equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine, the optional Sport Chrono Package, Bi-Xenon Headlamp Package, and Bose Surround Sound System. The car was purchased by the seller in December 2016 and has been modified with a TechArt GT body kit, a carbon fiber rear wing, tinted taillights, a 911 GT2 steering wheel, Alcantara headliner, Speed Yellow painted seatbacks, an underdrive pulley, H&R coilovers, and 18” BBS SR wheels. Benefitting from a major service in October 2024 including a new air/oil separator, spark plugs, and oxygen sensors, this tastefully modified Cayman S is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 39k miles showing on the odometer.
This Cayman S is finished in the iconic Porsche color of Speed Yellow and features a TechArt GT body kit including a revised front bumper with integrated fog lights, extended side skirts, and a fixed carbon fiber rear wing. Other equipment includes optional bi-xenon headlamps, clear side marker lights, tinted taillights, dual center-mounted tailpipes, red brake calipers, and anthracite-finished 18” BBS RS wheels measuring 8” wide in front and 10” wide at the rear. The wheels are mounted on upgraded studs and come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2020. The seller notes a layer of clear paint protection film installed over 10 years ago was removed in January 2025 followed by an exterior paint correction and ceramic coating. The car was used for three DE track days under the seller’s ownership and has not seen track use since 2017. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Equipped with optional leather Sport Seats, the black interior has been customized with Speed Yellow-painted seatbacks and a matching center console. Other modifications include an Alcantara-wrapped GT2 steering wheel, Alcantara upholstery covering the headliner and A-pillars, an Alcantara shift knob and handbrake, and drilled aluminum pedal covers. The car is factory-equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, a Sport Chrono dashboard stopwatch, a Porsche CDR24 stereo, and an optional Bose Surround Sound System. The seller indicates new floor mats have been installed, and the cabin remains in excellent condition apart from a worn finish on the climate control switches.
Factory-rated at 295 HP and 251 lb.-ft of torque, the mid-mounted 3.4-liter flat-six engine drives the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. An engine underdrive pulley has been installed along with a spin-on oil filter adapter. The transmission fluid was replaced in October 2017. A major service was completed in October 2024 including a new air/oil separator, mass airflow sensor, spark plugs, oxygen sensors, an oil change, and the installation of an H&R coilover kit. A DME report conducted at this time is provided for reference in the gallery and the seller states the car passed a California smog test in January 2025.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction! This is one of the best-looking 987 Caymans you will ever see and is often mistaken for a GT4 due to the incredible TechArt GT package. The interior tops off the entire package with Alcantara from the headliner, a-pillar, steering wheel, shifter, and e-brake. All maintenance is up to date, with regular oil changes and a significant service a few months back including upgraded coilovers. It's been my daily driver for the last 8 years and has always been garage-kept. Truly a spectacular-looking automobile in head-turning Speed Yellow which also flows into the interior. It's a low-mileage future classic that will look amazing for decades to come.”

@Eljefe412 It's real carbon fiber, but yes it has lost a bit of it's luster. The lighting in the photo shoot makes it look more pronounced, but in person it doesn't stand out as much.
Last question. Looking at the wing and the rest of the carbon fiber, it looks like it needs to be wet sanded and re-cleared. It is actual carbon fiber correct? Looking at the pictures it seems like it’s “carbon fiber look” and not actual carbon. Not being able to see things in person is frustrating. Thanks again!
@Eljefe412 In late October, there was a major service due to an AOS failure. I replaced AOS, Mass Air, Oxygen Sensors, Spark Plugs and Hoses. Image 175/176. There was a very small leak afterwards and was found to be one of the hoses and has been addressed. It was completed at no charge so I don't have the full details, but there is no oil leak at all.
I see on the Carfax and repair order there are mentions of an oil leak. Was it taken care of or what is the story behind it? Thanks in advance.

@agt6381 No documentation on the TechArt package but it’s genuine if there are any concerns. Parts are all stamped with code. Photos 108 as an example.
Any documentation on the TechArt GT package?
@agt6381 apologies, will respond now. Wasn’t aware of the direct messages.
@ MikeThibs (seller) I sent you a message this morning. Can please respond. Thanks
@ToddStorm Thanks for the bid and your interest!

@saga1113 Thanks! That’s some memory you got there.
I remember this when it was at Park Place where I was strongly considering buying it! A beautifully kept vehicle. GLWA!
@Tom_F2 The TechArt wing replaces the factory wing along with the motor for the active part and is not included.
Does the Techart wing replace the factory retractable wing? Would that mean that the factory wing does not come with the car?
@d4nimal Thanks! Yes, kit was $12,000+ before any paint. Significant upgrade over the stock look for sure!
@Sylverlee The stock parts are not included with the sale.
Wow an absolute stunner! Deserving of a robust response... I'm guessing that kit was close to $10k installed, if not more.
Are there any stock parts included?
@EQM The IMS has not been replaced during my ownership, but I can't speak to the previous owner. During my ownership, I've changed the oil every ~2,000 miles and have used Driven DT-40, which has higher levels of anti-wear for those concerns. I've also monitored each oil change for any signs of metallic particulate without issue.
Hi, has the IMS issue been completed on this?
The front bumper is a big improvement over stock.
@RumbleAuto Thanks!
That is a great looking rear decklid and wing!
Hey everyone and thanks for visiting the auction for my Cayman S. It's been a pleasure owning this vehicle over the last 8 years, but I've run out storage and have to let her go. If you have any questions, I'm happy to assist. Happy Bidding!
