@AmeliaIslander Thanks for your inquiry, this defect is post headliner replacement. That damage that must’ve occurred during the installation process or cleaning from my detailer. Merry Christmas!
@pgaautomotive - Ariel in pic 71 there is a rip in the headliner. Is that the old or the replaced headliner? Thanks
Hi everyone, thanks for the early interest in our Cayman S. The car has an interesting and well-documented history that I’m happy to share.
Mr. Nelson Sr. purchased the Cayman S new in March 2006, trading in his 1998 Boxster. Sadly, he passed away in 2008, and his son, Mr. Nelson Jr., inherited the car. During Mr. Nelson Jr.’s ownership, the car saw very limited use. The last reported mileage at BMW/Porsche/Volkswagen of Ocala was 12,289 miles, and I acquired it with 12,347 miles—suggesting it was essentially parked after his visit to the dealership, given he lived 57 miles away.
According to his wife, in 2012, Mr. Nelson Jr. decided to stop driving the Cayman until he could flatten his long driveway built on a dirt road, intending to avoid potential damage to the car’s underside. Unfortunately, that project never materialized, and after falling ill, he lost interest in driving the car. Though he recovered enough to enjoy his Harleys later on, the Cayman remained parked and untouched until earlier this year when his wife contacted me to sell it after his passing.
I acquired the car on March 30th of this year, and I took it to Werkshop49 a few days later to address any concerns and ensure it could be driven safely and reliably. They performed all necessary maintenance and repairs (detailed in the listing), after which I drove the car for approximately 1,500 miles to confirm its condition. During that time, I found it to be a joy to drive.
This Cayman S has been well-preserved despite its limited use and is now ready to be enjoyed by its next owner. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions!
