Finished in Carrara White over a Black and Stone Grey interior, this 6-speed 2006 Porsche Cayman S was treated approximately $165k in modifications under the care of its original owner. It features a turbocharged 3.4-liter flat-six engine by TPC Racing, an upgraded intake plenum, a GT3 radiator and cooling system, a custom tune by Gulf Performance, a Fabspeed exhaust, a Quaife limited-slip differential, a new South Bend racing clutch, a Patrick Motorsports lightweight flywheel, and H&R suspension. The car has also been modified with a full carbon GT4 rear wing, GT4-style side air intake scoops, a factory GT3 Cup front splitter, 19” ADV.1 forged wheels, Carrara White interior trim, Ultrasuede headliner, and an integrated Valentine One radar detector system. It was purchased by the seller, an automotive engineer and former SCCA racer, from the original owner in 2016 and is now being offered for auction out of Florida with under 36k miles showing on the odometer.

This Cayman S is finished in Carrara White and modified with a full carbon fiber GT4 rear wing, GT4-style side air intake scoops, 991-style front grilles with LED lights, an OEM GT3 front smile grille, an OEM GT3 Cup front splitter, and Fabspeed chrome exhaust tips. Optional bi-xenon headlamps, auto-dimming mirrors, and rain-sensing wipers came equipped from the factory. The car rides on white-painted 19” ADV.1 forged wheels with new Michelin Pilot Sport tires mounted approximately 3,200 miles ago. The seller states the car has been kept in a climate-controlled garage during their ownership and the exterior remains in excellent overall condition. Some minor touched-up chips are present on the front bumper and hood. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black and Stone Grey interior has been customized with a Carrara White painted center console, door handle surrounds, window triangles, ignition lock surround, and dashboard trim. Other modifications include a carbon fiber gear knob and handbrake lever, carbon fiber door handles and inner door sills, a three-spoke GT3 steering wheel, a thickened leather steering wheel, an integrated Valentine One radar detector, and a grey Ultrasuede headliner that extends to the rear hatch. The car also came factory-equipped with optional heated power seats, automatic climate control, the Bose Surround Sound System, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Stone Grey floor mats, and Carrara White instrument dials. The seller notes the passenger seat sensor needs to be replaced as the passenger airbag light appears on the dashboard intermittently.

The 3.4-liter flat-six engine was turbocharged by TPC Racing and features a full-flow intake plenum, upgraded fuel rails, a GT3 radiator and cooling system, a Fabspeed exhaust, a Patrick Motorsports lightweight flywheel, and a custom tune by Gulf Performance. A documented output of 470 HP is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission with a new South Bend racing clutch and a Quaife limited-slip differential. The car has been lowered with an adjustable H&R suspension including competition toe links and sway bars. The seller notes a new air/oil separator has been installed, the turbocharged was replaced within the last 3k miles, and new cross-drilled disc brakes are fitted at each corner. The seller adds that the car has been locally maintained by Foreign Affairs and Gulf Performance, and saw track use on only one occasion.

This sale will include a clean title.

I'd be glad to have you come and see the car in person. She is a super car. I'll see what I can do about doing a driving video. I have to tell you btyrrel1's comment really upset me. I am not used to having my integrity questioned.. I have sold many cars over the years and i promise no surprises....Any comments, pictures, and statements are true. and factual. I am excessive compulsive about taking care of my toys.

Hi, could you post a driving video?

Good grief..... I must say very much resent this comment. I revved it numerous times they may have just edited it. when posting. Trust me it certainly revs easily and so does your imagination.

In the start-up video, the temp is already at 180. Strange that in all the videos, you never raise the revs above 3k or so. Makes one think....

@Peteweiss . I could get this done for you but there are some excellent shops in AZ....Thinking Patrick Motorsports that provided my light weight flywheel.

    Thabks Jon

Is there possibility for you all to do work adding cats/tune prior to shipping and if so for how much extra??
Would prefer your experts get it set if can do.

  • jonjmay (seller) 2 days, 14 hoursago

Yes low restriction Cats can be added either permanently or temporarily.. Could also consider Montana title as I know a number of people who have done that to allow for both sales tax reduction and emission bypass.
Probably would need a minor tune on fuel oxygen ratio just to ensure AZ compliance.
    Jon

  • Peteweiss (registered bidder) 2 days, 14 hoursago

With no cats won’t pass emissions likely in AZ
Can cats be added? And would the tune need to be redone?

Gosh thanks for all of the positive comments. Great to hear from a satisfied customer. I am still producing both the 981 and 718 GT4 wings, side scoops, front splitters, LED grills, Smile grills so anyone who loves this car and wants to update and improve theirs reach out. You will find me on Rennlist a Planet 9. The only reason I am selling this car is because I just have too many Porsches. I just got a really, really nice 996 turbo with low miles and i just don't have enough garage space for 5 cars. LOL

  • bldn10 (registered bidder) 2 days, 16 hoursago

Jon, I bought one of your CF GT4 wings back when you were doing that, and when I sold it I bought a 987.2 w/ TPC turbo and also your wing. It never did 409 rwhp but was still faster than even lightly modded GT4s.
For anyone concerned about loudness w/ race headers, turbo systems are euphemistically referred to as rotary mufflers - it is not too loud at all, especially in normal driving. This car is worth a whole lot more.

There is a cold start video below. Would love to do a video run through the gears as it is amazing what 470 hp in a 2900 lb car will do. Just not sure I have time to do it before the end of the auction.

Yes the small lower portion of the right gauge is blacked out...always has been since the TPC Turbo install 17 years ago. They used a different mapping program to incorporate the turbo and wastegate which created garbage signal at that gauge location. It has been that way for neatly 35k miles on it with no issues No programming issues, no reliability issues, no cooling issues, no power issues.

    Jon

Why's the right gauge display "Blacked Out"? Can see it in the startup 2 video and the dash picture.

Fabspeed headers with no Cats. Just added a picture of the dyno curve. with 409 at the rear wheels and an estimated 470 at the flywheel. I will look to see what receipts make the most sense but there are a lot of them and they are numerous, very long and very complete. Pcar wants pictures not scans so not sure how meaningful they will be. I will review and may try to add some tomorrow. If you reach out with your email I can send them to you by scan which would be much better..

    Couple of questions:
    1) are there cats present? I am in AZ, not super strict but does have to pass emissions
    2) can you post some of the receipts for the work done?
    3) is there a dyno result to share?

    Thanks!!!

The wiring goes through the windshield trim to the mirror so if you wanted to mirror mount you could but not sure why you would want the visual obstruction. Works great where it is.

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 weekago

It is hard wired in, but simply Velcro attached at actual location.

Beautiful build! There was another TPS turbo build some years ago that got away from me (it was in Canada). I am curious about the Valentine 1 (huge fan). How exactly is it mounted?
Blendmount makes a perfect mirror mount.

I agree about this being a natural track monster but it was just too nice and I love how it drives....Over the years I have had many cars that I tracked and raced and I know how hard it is on them and frankly I just enjoyed driving this one on the street and going to shows. The next owner may see it differently and she is definitely ready.

  • WRENCH.56 (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

    What a great build!
The only thing that seems odd to me is that this car has reputedly only had one track session.
IMNSHO, a car of this nature is a bit much for anywhere other than a track! That seems to me to be its natural habitat.

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

The Turbo was replaced because we had an oil seal in the bearings that went bad. Nothing catastrophic but fixed it before there was a real problem.

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

I will have to look up the details on the pads and rotors as I do not remember what we ordered now. I have full documentation on nearly all of the work and maintenance.

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

The rotors are cross drilled and the calibers are stock. The rotors, and pads were done about 3500 miles ago.

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

I only tracked the car once at Homestead when I first got it to test high speed performance and handling. That is when I added the aero improvements. Engine has had no internal changes. The car has a low boost of just over 6.5 lbs so that means low stress....in short no issues over 35k miles. The original owner spared no expense and did all of the cooling improvements, intake, headers, differential, suspension and Turbo when it was essentially brand new and because of this focus on doing it right there have been zero reliability issues. I also owned a Ruf 996 BTR for many years so I had a long relationship with Gulf Performance in Pompano Beach, a Ruf approved shop and at my request they did a detail tune and computer remap. Their deep Turbo knowledge always gives me a high confidence in their work. It has never let me down.

I did put new turbo in about 3500 miles ago and changed the AOS. The car had a recent compression and leak down test within the last 2000 miles with no issues. I have owned many turbo Porsches and I always allow the turbo to cool down for the last few miles of the drive and before I put her away. This prevents any carbon build up.

  • groach (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

Beautiful build! Are the brakes stock? And why was the turbo recently replaced?

  • por356c (registered bidder) 1 week, 1 dayago

Exciting car! Along with all of these mods, has the engine been redone to eliminate the potential for Bore Scoring, ie., new pistons and cylinders? And has this car been tracked? Thanks.

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

Sorry there is a typo. The Ruf 993 was a BTR not a BRT......

  • jonjmay (seller) 1 week, 1 dayago

As background I am an automotive engineer and was the original lead engineer on the first 100 cars ever built with airbags. I have raced SCCA and have always had a love for Porsches. My first Porsche was a 1970 911 S and since then I have owned 16 Porsches including a Ruf 993 BRT that I had personally built by Alois Ruf. I purchased this car in 2016 from the original owner and immediately took it to my Ruf mechanic, Gulf Performance in Pompano Beach Florida, and had him tune the car as only a Ruf certified mechanic can. It has low boost and is absolutely reliable and fast. I developed and had quality sources custom make the aero enhancements and they worked so well that I now sell these to Cayman owners world wide. It has a documented 409 HP at the wheels and an estimated 470 at the lightweight flywheel. If Porsche had built a GT4 in 2006 this is the car they would of built. I welcome your inquiries on this great car.
